hey guys

my friend had recently bought a WD my book essential recently like 3weeks back
yesterday suddenly his my book isnt getting detected in his computer he tried it in diffrent computers but still the same problem presists what happens is when i connects the device to the computer via usb first the installing drivers bubles pops up and then the device was not installed problem comes and the hard disk switches itself off what do you guys think the problem might be please reply :?
 
try connecting it to a different computer and see, it might me a driver conflict. if it does not works on the second computer, call WD helpline and wait for their representatives... :-)
 
well he tried connecting to diffrent computer and the hd doesnt respon it is like getting detected at firsyt and then it says drivers cannot be installed
 
I think its RMA time. Something inside the external drive is wrong if driver installation fails repeatedly on different systems....
