My Creative Muvo Slim

the prob is, all those 192/320 kbps mp3's are absolutely huge ... but they do have awesome sound quality.

on my 256 mb player, i can fit a max of 35 such songs

what's the best format to convert such mp3s to for acheiving the best size v/s quality ratio?

i tried mp3pro at 80 kbps cbr... huge difference btn the original and the converted version...

same for wma 64/80 kbps.

note: the player supports only mp3,wma and wav formats.

need ur suggestions, wanna put this long weekend to some good use :p

I use my phone (Nokia 7710) as my primary music device. Since I only have a 1GB memory card, which is shared by movies & ebooks, I faced a similar problem.

My solution was to move my music to MediaMonkey which gives me total control over my music. More to the point, it can automatically downsample music when synchronizing with a music device, while leaving the original music on the computer intact. I just create a playlist of the music I want and tell MediaMonkey to synchronize it and it does it smoothly in the background. I chose MP3 96kbps CBR for listening to music on the phone. I can fit approximately 200 tracks onto 500 MB space on the phone.

Hope this helps.

Otherwise u can use WMP11 to manage your music as it too converts the music to a choosen bit rate before synchronizing to the player

the s/w n all is fine... i cud use wmp, dbpoweramp, nero wav editor, my mp3 pro etc.

but what's the best bitrate for wma/mp3pro (cbr/vbr) that wud come close to matching the original mp3 which is, say, encoded at 160 kbps and also be less in size when compared to the original ?
