My comp also was paid for by my dad...but that was it..... Since then, no major upgrades.... that is why, I also dont suffer from upgraditis :P....I dont feel like asking my dad to spend more for my comp.... apart from minor stuff like the NV Silencer, some thermal pastes, etc......

but for me.. my parents give me money .. since i`m still studing.. and seriously .. i feel guilty now. when i have to ask em for a comp purchase.. precisely the reason why i dont have any upgraditis...
only asking them for stuff i really need.. like a printer.. and maybe sooon a keyboard and mouse.. lol..

Exactly my thoughts man, i buy only that is required for me:)

Infact these things have made me to work hard, so that i can get a good job and earn more money and .....:D.

and i would justify an upgrade (paid for by dad) if i get good marks hehe :devil2:
 
frm where they get money is big doubt.......

but 1 thing i know hereis if a guy says i dont have money right now...it means that day that person got alot of money.....

well I didnt feel guilty when I bought the geforce 4 ti 4400 for 22,000. But recently when I got the 1800XT for 17k I felt guilty of the ti 4400 purchase....

hehe...its a cycle....

wow it costed that much i didnt know :ashamed: :S... i felt pretty guilty buying the 9600 pro fo mine for 7.5k coz that was all the money i had saved up ..me went broke after that and never really recovered :P
 
Don't know about India but in the 'States, its an insult if +9 grade students still have to borrow money for anything they want to buy, because its part of the curriculum to get a job, lol (job/interview training starts from 8th grade). And one can earn as much as 40-80$ a day. Keep saving for a couple of months and ta-daa, you got yourself a powerful gaming rig.
 
^^But the downside to that is,u stop living with ur parents pretty early...and i don't see whats wrong with living with ur parents as long as u want.
