My Dell Inspiron 6400 :D

Inspiron 6400 eh? I am wondering whether to buy the same. I might buy one now, or else put off the purchase till next year.

What I am getting is:

2.00Ghz Core 2 Duo (T7200 I think)

I GB Ram

120 GB SATA hdd

15.4 Ultrasharp WSXGA+ with truelife

X1300 hypermemory

and the usual suspects

cost = 1k US + taxes (I think shipping is currently free)

Which shows that apart from Acer, everyone is still charging a whole lot more in India then they are in the US.

Oops, that cost was a bit off. Taxes and shipping do apply and push it up to 1200 USD. Ouch.

hehe, try configuring the M1210 on Dell US, and then on Dell India...you'll be surprised!

Yeah.... I heard of that one anomaly.

Anyway, I placed an order for a dell 6400 yesterday. 1138 USD

And it has the specs I mentioned. Will post in show off when I get it in 10 days time.

I configured a inspiron - T7200+2gb ram+ x1800 + 120 gb hdd, etc it comes to approx 65K (delivery free) after adding a 20% discount coupon in the US site....

here the same config cost 90K++ with some superior hardware which are available in US site which you dont even get here - man 30k difference is really not feasible... you could buy another cheap lappy in the amt... only if the indian site would allow us Indian to put the same coupons it would be better...why this bias man
