Upgrade from Q9550 to lynnfield?
Wait for a while at least till all the dust regarding socket burning is cleared.
Q9550 is awesome.

Its already history . I already cleared the air a few days ago .

Still here we go again

" Tomshardware has already went past 4ghz oc on P55 without any burns .

It turned out that the motherboard already had over-current protection built-in, and ASRock had simply neglected it in the BIOS, believing that average overclockers wouldn't need it. A BIOS update to version 1.80 was the sole requirement to fix the P55 Pro, and ASRock even had Newegg ship a retail sample from its normal stock to prove this.

Mobo bios max voltage was set at 1.80v default keeping in mind that extreme overclockers would not need it . Now a bios revision ti 1.80v has been issued and no harm has been detected so far . "

It performs like crap in NFS Shift and even GTA IV doesn't perform too good.

Dont blame the proccy. NFS Shift runs slow on ATI hardware.. The patch is now out, you will get significant improvement with new patch..download it :)

Well, many other websites say that the problem is due to foxconn sockets which do not provide proper contact with the cpu pins.
And according to anandtech, the problem is not fully corrected.
Also, what about gigabyte and asus? Asrock is not at all a topic to be spoken in india.

My system just got upgraded.

Crysis runs at V High with 50 FPS or so but at 1024x768.

FC2 on the other hand maxes itself at full HD without AA with the benchmark showing a minimum of nearly 60 FPS.

ya gotta agree you dont need 50 FPS to enjoy crysis or any other game, i am playing it on my 5850 all maxed out at 1920x1080 without any issuses at around 32FPS :)

But would it be possible to get a smooth experience in Crysis at 1440x900 MAX no AA even if the FPS are close to 40 FPS?

I played both CRYSIS and WARHEAD. Got 35-45fps depending on scenes. I hadn't any problem playing the game.

And FYI, a 5850 is capable of delivering CRYSIS at 31-32fps to 1920x1080. So you should get late 40s at 1440x900
