Laptops My first laptop - Do I need Recovery DVD?

Guys just received my Sony vaio cb15 in black :), will post pics by tomorrow evening. No recovery disc , any suggestions what to do about recovery dvd, is it really neccessary to create recovery disc or any other option is available?

try to get a copy of windows 7 released by technet.keep it as a back up.use your product key to activate it if you need to install at a later date.
 
It is always advisable to create a recovery disc, if for some reason your OS crashes (which happens when you least expect it) you should have a fallback option.

But if you have a copy of Windows OS DVD then you can use it to reinstall the OS and use your product key to activate it again, and may skip the recovery disc option in such a case.
