its been sometime that i had decided to OC and then yesterday i finally decided to plunge into it .. this is my first ever OC in this life :P and before i post the problem i would like to thank some people ... Darky , Quad Master , Harshal were my biggest help and inspiration :bleh: ... and i am very grateful to them for introducing me to the art of Ocing ..

now I am facing some probs with my Overclock .. actually no problem as such but I want to max out my oc...

I cant seem to get my RAM to go over 255Mhz (1:1 , 2.7V) .. i am able to boot into windows and stuff if i go over 255mhz but i cant pass memtest.

Since my ram is 512*2 Transcend Samsung UCCC Chips i was looking for something atleast around 270mhz from them.

Anyways details are as follows :

CPU/FSB : 1:1

Cpu voltage : 1.5V

Vdimm : 2.7V

Chipset Voltage : 1.60V

BIOS : 623-1 Oskar Wu (tried 7024 bta also but it seems this one is gr8 for UCCC)

I am attaching some screenies of A64 Tweaker and CPU-Z ..Please help me max out my OC. I dont think my CPU is limiting at all .. even at 2.4ghz my cpu temps were perfectly okay under load (~47C)

here are the screenies,

lemme know if any more info is required. thanks.

Try using 623-3 as well. Maybe thats the limit of ur ram. Try playing around with Tref and clock skew in the bios. They sometime seem to improve things a bit. Also try checking each module individually and find the maximum for each. Then try putting the weaker stick closer to the cpu and the stronger stick farther away. Might help you in getting a few MHz that way.

have tried playing with everything ... will try doing it with one ram module at a time ... but i dont really think that will help me get some real benefit.

Hey mohit....

I am using 704-2bta (BT modded 706 bios) and it absolutely owns for UCCC overclocking, i hv taken Trrd and Trad as low as 0 and gone to 265 Mhz @ 3-4-0-3. i am talking 2 x 1gb kit here. with 2 x 512MB the timings should be taken even lower.

add me gtalk or msn, i can give u some noob tips there :P

added u karan ..and guys i am attaching some more info about my OC using the Everest OC Report generated ..its a text file. please see it and advise me further.

okie guys .. ill have to settle for 256mhz on my ram and a total speed of 256*9 = 2304 mhz for my cpu .. cant go more than this no matter what .. anyways i have tried to tighten the timings of my ram at this speed ...below is a new screenshot of tightened timings ... please advise on what more can be done inorder to have an even better bandwidth/latency.

thanks.

EDIT : My PC is rock stable at these timings .. ran 2 hours of memtest86 and 3 hours of torture test (blend) on prime95 without errors .. will prime overnite again today. temps are also perfectly okay.

;) like i told u in MSN buddy, can be tightened a lot more. btw can u tell me why u rot taking ur CPU higher?

There's hardly any performance diff between 3-4-3-8 and 3-4-4-8, for that matter even 3-4-0-8 will give you the same latencies. The CL and TRCD values are what really matter and UCCC hates 3-3-3-8.

hmmm right now me using stock hsf .. and temps reach 50C when i ran the torture test in prime95 (the one for max heat n power consumption) .. will be using this rig 24X7 so dont wanna get increased temps on stock.

i might go a lil higher though but i dont want to use dividers at present.

and temme what should i do to tighten the timings further ??

thanks man.

@Chaos

previously with the timings as shown in my first a64 tweaker screenie ... the everest latency test was reporting mine to be around 47ns.

now after i tightened some timings it shows around 43ns.

dont know if it really makes a difference or not .. but still i want better bandwidth.

hey bikey .. ya i use an AC but when i has left my machine for priming i was not in my room and so AC was off ...

vcore - 1.5V

vdimm - 2.7V
