You think I am making money? OK, I challenge you to do this...buy the TY discs fromKtmndd- You will be taking some money for your efforts afterall- it's business then.
Rima.com: Taiyo Yuden DVD+R 4.7GB, 8X, 100-Pack
It costs $33.99 (Rs. 1,400) + local shipping with the US. Then ship this stuff to India (add shipping costs...FYI each spindle weighs 4lbs...ie for 10 spindles the weight is 40lbs), then add customs cost etc and then sell it at a price of Rs. 1,900/-. We'll see how much money you make out of this. I will guarantee you, you will loose money and so am I.
I don't get what you mean by this statement? You arent getting regular stuff- coz who will buy from u when it's common stuff available here with warranty.
You are getting unusual stuff and it will sell coz most do not have access to it- so it is a favour to those who need it, not TE as a community.
Not to mention, you are doing yourself a favour.
And also that you have tapped into a popular online community as a very potent market- FREE of charge.
The 'doing the community a favour' part is so Ho-Hum.![]()
By community, I am not referring to the TE community, I am referring to the community of Tech enthusiasts who recognize the scarcity of some really good product not available here in India. I also refer to the community of people who have been frustrated with the current scene of e-commerce sites selling tech stuff in India and being a newegg kind of experience to this community. A place where the customer come first before anything else (yes, even profit!) To be very frank I even plan to sell the stuff you get in India on my site at a later stage. My goal....simply speaking is to be the newegg of India. This is how I am trying to help the community. Cuz I belong this community too. If you have a good concept, and you can give provide customer satisfaction...the money will follow.
They are doing a great job...no doubt and I have helped Funky out explaining to him about the markup charged by credit card companies for paying in US dollars. What I am trying to do here is much bigger and the benefits will flow to the end customer that is you. Ever heard about economies of scale. More the quantity, lesser the price. I have the resources to get the same stuff Funky is getting for you from his GO at a much lesser cost. Now isn't that helping the community? I even save people like Funky from going through all the trouble of organizing the GO, using his credit card, clearing customs etc...you catch the drift. I do all that for you and would be able to pass on the price befits to the end customer.I am greedy for h/w- but look at the GOs that happen- poor Saiyan and Funky and others go through so much hassle- buy- use own cc, pay tax, pack, ship- for no extra cost.
They extend a good opportunity/deal to others when they are availing the same.
That in my opinion is doing a service/favour to the community.
You have to realize I am taking some heavy losses at the moment. But try to understand the bigger picture....the loss is my current investment for something bigger in the future that everybody would be able to reap the benefits.
