PC Peripherals My MX510 makes noise :S

Well as wierd as it may seem, if i put my ear next to my mouse, I can hear a low humming sound. It was rather quiet today and since it was cold, i switched off the AC and lo there was a sound coming from my comp which i couldnt locate. Finally found that its my stupid rat . I am wondering my ears are okay :O. Would other fellow MX500/510/518 owners lemme know if they hear something akin to this.... put ur ear beside the mouse and check it out!

Mx518. there is a sound alright but only when i hold it really close to my ears. Otherwise inaudible.

Its there. Its always been there with my 518.
And its not something unique to ur mouse. It can be heard on all MX510s and 518s.
Aparantly some image aquisation component (mostly caps, not sure) or the LED make that high pitch noise.

yeah i too can hear very low humming noise in my mx518,but it is faint,only heard when u keep ur ears stuck to it.

Wonder if it happens on the laser mouse as well.... I think bottle can confirm that!

I am just thinking , whats making that noise in an optical mouse.
I hear no sound in my microsoft optical mouse.

i can hear the humming noise in my MX518 too...but only if i hold it righ next to my ear.....
