how did you source components?i made myself the cmoy, working on a meta-42,and am in process of sourcing tubes for making a millet SS.

only place where i have made purchases from is RS components and the turnaround time is ridiculous.

i use local resistors-5% and nichicon/rubycon standard caps wherever i can accomodate them.do you import everything or use generic components?

For the Beta22, I had to import most of the parts. The resistors are Koa/Vishay Dale 1% metal films, Panasonic FM/FR or Chemicon electrolytic capacitors, NPO ceramics, film capacitors are metallized polypropylene.

For the power supply, I am using 1% MF resistors from reputed indian brands & Vishay electrolytic capacitors. Basically no generic component has been used in my builds.

I do have some spares, so pm me if you need someting.

as of now,i have no equipment even close to audiophile, heck, not even entry level good,(am left with crap apple earphones after i lost my rx700),i guess i will have to pass on the offer.it will be pointless to blow a lot of money to build something very good,if i cant use it like its meant to.

i was looking to get some ic's like buffers and more opamps though.

mind sharing your source of components?

though,i will like to get some good quality caps from you,if you dont mind, once i get my pcb designs perfected.

on a side note, how much did you spend for the resistor?how much does a single 1% resistor cost(final landing cost)?

^ You can check the prices on farnell, just add the shipping charges (flat Rs.150).

For Mouser purchases, you have to factor in fedex shipping charges and custom charges(~30%). I won't recommend it as a first choice source but there are certain components which no one else stocks so one has to bite the bullet.

Nice man! New headphones coming too? Everybody here is raving about the HE-6.

Heard the Schitt hybrid and didn't like it as much as your amp.

I had to say goodbye to your EHHA on Wednesday
<
. No time for a home rig anymore. New customs soon, bought a protector already for the ride to work and back. The guy who bought your EHHA it is having it rehoused in an aluminium chassis.

^Modded the LCD-2, sounds like a new headphone!
<

The EHHA is a great amp indeed & I am not surprised at all that it fared better than the Schitt amp.

While the Beta22 is clearly the better amplifier in almost every aspect, its amazing how close the EHHA gets for about half the part cost.Great VFM!

BTW, your EHHA does have an aluminium housing, but I agree, an amp of this class deserves a better case.
