Ok finally i got time to oc my gfx card
its a Sapphire X1600 Pro 512mb
well things were working prefect on 400mhz/450mhz(clock/memory)
then i thought i'll rev it up a bit soo i used the ATI tool to increase the clock speed took it up to 500mhz where as the memory reachd 485mhz still working fine with temps around 70.I was pretty happy to play FEAR now with softshadow enabled+AA+AF+dynamic lighting was geting around 60+ fps even at heavy fire fights. i thought leme take more then took it to 550 mhz memory reachd 500mhz with this change (i dint touch the memory slider uptill now) still things lookd great i was happy that thing got some potential to go up this high. i played rainbow six vegas had awsome 55 fps with all eyecandy on and on 1024x768 resolution cudnt go up further more since my monitor turns itself off beyond 1024x768.(its a very very old 17' CRT).
Anyways i thought i can take it a little more soo rev'd itup to 580mhz(clock)memory increased by 550,i took the slider and got it down to 520.
Now the fun part starts played Ghost Recon Advanced Warfight 63fps  everything high.I was running round the house happy called up couple of friends told them my ocing things.I was very very happy  :cool2:
then i thought i cud go a bit more soo i moved to slider to 620mhz directly and memory inceased by 585mhz and when i tried Battlefield 2142 the GPU blew off :@ i tried everydamn thing applied some articsilver and did everything in my hand to start the card it just wont display anything

well then now i have to give it for RMAing lets hope i get it replaced within 3 weeks cuz my new rigg will come in that period and it doesnt have an onboard display :(

oooh poor you....All the best with RMA...

happy to play FEAR now with softshadow enabled+AA+AF+dynamic lighting was geting around 60+ fps even at heavy fire fights

No way!!!.....

That card is toast alright... next time, do some homework so you don't get carried away and fry something else.

always have an eye on the temperature

and how much was the diff between non-oc and oc's card keeping [arameters constant? (fps's in games)

i was always chking temps on every step of ocing the card got fryed on 87
where as it was pretty stable on 78@580mhz

lol i did the home work on the net the max the card can be oc'd at is 575mhz beyond that its risky
i just wanted to see how much potential this card has thts all i never knew i'de blow it away:(

If others were able to do 575mhz, presumably with aftermarket cooling, it was a bad idea to go beyond that with stock cooling. That's not all, you should have found out what are the safe temps for the card too. Well, once bitten twice shy.

ya re rio i shud have chk the safe temps i was soo exicited to see games working this gr8 i almost forgot to keep an eye on the temp at that level.
ne ways its still under warrenty
more 3 yrs ka warrrenty is there

lol i dont think warranty is gonna cover u frying the card cuz of overclocking :bleh:

but u might get lucky if they dont understand if its cuz of overclocking

^^ Who said you have to tell them that you were Overclocking? :S

You have to go like a noob.. "I dont know, it just stopped working, screen went blank, but computer was still running."... Loll..

 Works all the time, especially if ya send a girl :D

Next time you plan to overclock, you might wanna google and read other user's experiences with overclocking the same card :cool2: .

Seems like you got carried away with the eye candy :hap5: .

Anyway, good luck with your RMA and go a little slow 'n easy next time checking temps till they stabilize at every stage.
