I've recently moved to a N73 ME after I lost my SE W810i. I've got a few things that are irritating me a lot.

- On my SE, it was very easy to set up a recurrent alarm to ring on all days of the week. On this phone, I need to go and set it every day
- I downloaded some fantastic 320x240 wallpapers and found that you can't use the entire screen for the wallpaper.
- Lock Screen requires the press of the power key. In all the phones I've owned, it's always been the combination of soft key+*.
- I used to be able to set call divert at a profile level. For instance, in my home profile on the 810i, I would set it to silent mode and forward to my landline. Not possible on the Nokia.
- Like all symbian phones, its painfully slow

Of course, it's not all bad. there's a lot to love, wonderful screen, music player, camera etc etc

So, what do others feel about their N73?

i can help u with all the above issues
firstly upgrade ur phoe firmware by downladibg ur phoe software from nokia.com and upgrade it will tell u all the softwares which can improve ur spedd ma n73 just rocks

That's right, update your firmware and the phone will be a lot more stable.
As for your irritations-

-Recurrent alarms feature isnt available on any S60 phones. You could use a 3party program for that.
-No,you cant.Try downloading ThemeDIY.It lets you make your own themes on the phone itself and you can get fullscreen wallpapers this way:hap2: .
-That combo still works. You're not pressing it quick enough I think.:hap5:
-Not sure about that as I never use it.
- Update firmware.

1. - Use third party apps . eg Handy Alarm
2. - USe Theme DIY, using that you can create themes with the wallpaper of your choice as a full screen background easily.
3 - Install AUtolock and then you can use soft key + star to lock the keypad
4 - No idea...never though of it actually but i bet there would be a software to do that :P
5 - Its faster than most of the other symbian phones... try using the Nokia default themes.. they work much better... :)

In fact, I did upgrade to the latest firmware. The speed seemed horribly slow when I started using it, especially compared to the lightning fast SE UI. But, after a few days, I've got used to it.

Don't get me wrong, I love the phone. Today, I downloaded the mobile divx player and am able to play many videos that I downloaded off the net. My fascination with it grows by the day. I just wish that some basic features like recurrent alarms were available in the default apps instead of paying for a seperate app, that's all

Hey, can u pm me the link for the mobile divx player .. Thanks.

Am using the N73 since May. The silver coating has started peeling off. And i haven't even dropped the cell once. Love the phone... but it just looks sad with the silver peeling off.

the speed is slow because its Symbian S60 whereas SE phones dont use S60 (uses SE embedded OS) . S40 is not at all slow :) but its NOT Symbian

Jaganm, its 240x320 not 320x240 for N73 .. thats why you find your wallpapers not fitting N73 screen size

hi guys . i have a nokia n73 and would like to have some info/help
when i receive a call i have only the callers name displayed.
since i have multiple numbers assigned to each contact in my phone book i would like to know if it is possible to have the caller name as well as the number displayed when receiving the call
i have seen it in several s60 devices of my friends incl 7610, E-51, 6630 etc.
