I am using n79 for the past 20 days, thought about doing a review but don't have the time...
anyways since it's price has fallen quite a bit and many view it as a perfect VFM I thought about sharing some of my experiences.... he he so that future buyers are forewarned...
BTW any questions/doubts are welcome
pro's :
1)great 5 mp cam (same as n82 in daylight)
2)one of the best lookin n series phone out there, buy the white one if possible and use the red back cover, looks really fab. the petrol black colour looks el cheapo BTW,so avoid that...
3)cheap as in pricing
4)great battery life
5)good OS speed, poor game speed (as in asphalt and system rush evolution)
6)finaly hackable using helloox2!!
cons:
1)the currently available firmware is very buggy. the most serious problem I have faced till now is sometimes when u recieve call, it will restart which is just too bad from nokia. the latest fw in indian product code is 20.175(very buggy) . but the phonix version tat is 30.010 is quite stable for the past 3-4 days, so i am using that
overall it ranks right upthere with the biggest buggers of all time,ie 8310,6230,n80
2) many sets are faulty. maybe nokia tried to cram too many low quality parts into a small case. i got my display replaced twice already...
3) d pad is pain in a**, not at all useful for playing games... mainly because nokia tried to experiment, here the centre dimple is raised , unlike other nokias where it is recessed, so do try it in a shop before u buy it
4)the "gyroscope" or "motion sensor" is super sensitive, better switch it off
ah before I forget speakers are same as N82 ie quite lower in volume then 5800/N73/e71
