Namita Thapar's reply to this is very good. If you are CXO, you can work 24x7 as you have "skin in the game". But don't expect a menial employee (like me) to slog for your profits.

I am getting 2% hike and the next higher rated guy is getting 4%. I have zero motivation to work better as I can live comfortably with work life balance and not slog for that extra 2%.

This. Anupam Mittal is full of crap and only talks big through his ass. She made an excellent point and rightfully called out Mittal's views as complete crock.

govt job is still more lucrative option for masses
no, believe me. It's not all roses in the govt. If you want small things like pen or paper, you have to fill out forms and ask permission. Plus those in front like (aka public facing dept) get to bear the brunt of angry people the entire day. And you don't get your monthly salary on time. Sometimes it's 1-2 months late. Others get it after 4 months. Really shitty job imo. Only after you finsh your entire life in the govt like a slave do you get pension and even for that you need to fight a bit because the amount goes to SBI or other badly run govt banks.

Rules for thee and not for mee. Maybe should have preached some gyaan to his daughter before spouting this for others.

Also akshata murthy an Indian citizen, claims she would pay UK taxes. However, due to the existing tax treaty between India and the UK, she would not pay taxes in India. This would reduce her overall tax liability in India, which is already a pittance.

They are part of deep state elite . We just keep barking at them like dogs while they keep squeezing us . If Infy contracts were to be put under the scanner one can possibly guess how much they are looting us in the name of govt contracts . Tata also does the same and claims respect and nationalism .

Considering the highest tax slab in the UK (40-45%) is higher than in India, she wouldn't have to pay any tax in India as she has paid more in the UK.

Read somewhere Infosys may replicate aadhar like services in UK.

So, he's saying his wife is not worth looking at? His home life sounds really sad.

"According to a report by New Indian Express, the L&T Chairman earned a total salary of ₹51 crore in the financial year 2024, which represented a 43.11 per cent increase from FY 2023."
"Overall, Subrahmanyan's salary is 534.57 times the median salary of L&T employees, which was equivalent to ₹9.55 lakh in the same financial year (FY 2024)."

Those who have voted 'Yes'. Can you tell us have you worked 70 hrs/ week? And how?

When I work more than 40 hours / week, it f's me up properly. The max I have been able to do is 50 hours. I clock my work. So I know how long I work every week. When I say, 50 hours, I mean proper productive work in a flow state / zone. It doesn't include lunch or party breaks. When I work above 40 hours that week, that usually means, I don't have any personal time left for gym, TE, social, TV, calls etc.

How does one do 70 hrs / week?

When I was very young (just graduated) I worked 2 weeks for 90 hours a week at night. 6pm to 9am every day Mon-Friday. Saturday or sunday was a holiday (never both). I hated it. No sleep, no time for washing clothes properly, no time for parents, etc. F that sort of life. I didn't vote anyway. ALl these type of sentences only big shots can say. I never got extra pay for that overtime or any thanks for putting in those hours of work. I was laid off in coming months. So...f these old men.

It is the same story here.

I too have worked in night shifts...double shifts too. 20 hours in a day. ( Twice in a week so 40 hrs) Plus regular shifts of 10 hrs for reat of 4 days. So almost 80 hrs.

Even had to bring tooth brush and paste few times. Haha.

I did got incentive though but it was meager.
In first job I was doing it with an idea for growth only to realise that these jobs don't value hardwork much.

Second time in a different company I was doing this for my manager who really been very nice to me and so was returning the favour when she needed to help to cover up some last moment assignments.
