i have the same bike.

caluclate the mileage.

if it is around 50 then tell the service centre guys strictly to not fiddle with tuning.

my bike used to return 55-60kmpl uptil 1st 2 services and they fiddled with tuning.

now its impossible for me to extract even 40kmpl.

i will have to find more about carb tuning and do the same.

moreover, uptil 4500rpm is good till 1500km.

the bike is very smooth.

but dont run it at as low as 2700rpm in 5thy gear, it strains the engine unnecessarily.

shift up at 3000rpm until the engine warms up and 3500rpm in general case.

shift down at 2000rpm.. that returned that 55-60kmpl to me when it was new..

basically mileage shall increase after run in period and it only makes me thing that they service centre guys changed some parts out of my precious one :(.

i no more service at HH service station.. the engine warranty is crap, most HH engines dont break sweat until 50k km so just get it serviced from HH service centre for the free services and then find a local mechanic who you can be in touch with.

join HH community over orkut to know more about bad service centres in your area.

That's crazy!

Hard to believe they could do something stupid like that.Maybe you were driving very sedatively when your bike was new hence the high mileage?

nope,i drove the same way after the mileage drop.

i even began fiddling with air/fuel screw to see whether the bike likes leaner/richer mixture.. but at the best, it returns 40kmpl...that too, if driven steadily and strictly below 60kmph/5000rpm

to make sure, i have tested with 4 different fuel pumps (whether this is because of bad petrol).. but no, its the bike tuning.
