Okay guys i have tata sky DTH and my current 21 incher isn't good enough. So i need a 29-34(34 inch would be great!) crt tv for Rs30-50k. So which tv will be ideal for watching programs like star movies, hbo, history channel, espn, star world, etc, etc.I don't use tv for watching dvds or play ps2,xbox360 games .

So which crt tv (pls mention the brand and model no.) would you recommend for great picture quality and good sound and how much would it cost??? Plz give a weblink if possible.

^^nope it is in 4:3 format.

But techhead are you sure that it costs only 34 k??? I mean for a 34 inch tv that's great price!!!!

You can try Panasonic too - they have pretty good sound quality, I never saw the picture quality! Too many TVs with large speakers sound boomy, so make sure the Philips doesn't (but with Chaos vouching for it I suppose you don't need to do that)

^^Do yourself a favor and go to a shop to compare. In crt TV market, philips pixel plus really has no competition in terms of image quality.

ok thnx...how abt the HD ready 29" phillips link that I posted, isn't it similar to the 34incher except the size ??

I am also looking for Philips 29 inch model # 29PT9421. Its a Pixel Plus 2 tv and not Pixel plus.......I've been told that this perticular model is discontinued by company, can anybody confirm ?

I believe the 29 incher differs from the 34 incher in audio quality also. Not too sure for i haven't checked out either of them.I am going by the specs listed on their websites.Somebody correct me if i am wrong.

I think in LCD too there is no competition for Philips... I have seen large LCD of sony and Philips side by side playing LOTR from the same source... i shud say that there is no competition... Philips with Pixel plus is way way better.....
