40 inch full HD 3 D Samsung 40F6100 from ebay for 43k should be considered.
Though this comes with a dealer warranty- i have purchased 4 Samsung LEDs from ebay during last one year--never had any prob..the savings are over 40% over Indian price.

what type of panel it will be? and they will be good as primary display?

Any 42" is there in these?

Aren't you considering Plasmas? Apart from being less bright that what leds are, they have better picture quality viewing angles etc.
From what I have read, Panasonic is pioneer in plasmas and ST60 series is the only television to get 5 stars. Minimum is 50 inch. If that doesn't suit your requirement look into s60 which is a lesser model with 42 inch availability

My budget is 50k +\- 5k.

In that I dont think i will get a 50" plasma :(
I wouldn't recommend a plasma for your application which includes PC and gaming and your lighting condition.

If you want high contrast stick the Samsung as far as what panel they come with, one can only tell once you receive your tv.

Plasma's come with a host of problems. Get a 42inch LCD.

LG makes some good panels. Samsung is a lottery, Sony comes with its compromises. LG is a good bargain between both.

slight correction there - plasmas don't COME with a host of problems, rather, they demand a little bit of care, esp. more in the few weeks that follow the purchase-date. ;)

m-jeri, since gaming is important for you (even if for 20% of the time), plus factoring in the situation of the TV being consistently used as a monitor to your PC, you should go ahead with an LED/LED-LCD TV. and i know that you are an HFV-member as well; i hope you've created a thread there too?! you should get a better & well-informed-response there (though the response here is good too), not forgetting the prospect of getting to read up on a wealth of good info on the subject there, as indicated by the first reply to your query in this thread of yours here!! :)
