My friend needs to buy a new phone for his wife. He basically needs a phone with all available features and most primarily music, multimedia, GPS with offline maps, movie watching, radio, 3G, wifi.
I have suggested him Nokia phones because of availability of ovi maps free navigation.
We dont care about all negative stuff surrounding nokia, just need a VFM device.
Have told him to refrain from android since it will make things more complex for him (personal opinion..do not flame me :P)
Suggested Nokia C7 and also told him to check out Gaurish's review here.
Has he got any other option in his budget ?
Touchscreen with bigger screen preferred.

PS: We will be buying the phone from letsbuy using the reliance 15% coupon so max discount we may get is 2000 rupees so considering this please suggest.

@raksrules

Get C7...its the ONLY handset (besides C6-01 - but dont buy it coz of smaller screen) that matches 100% with your criteria. Its a very good device, I am using it for last 5 months. So if you have any specific queries, let me know.

I am putting my view as far my perspective & Android is not complicated; one doesn't need to be Technically sound to be able to use Android OS, it's no Rocket Scienc
1. you were not putting views, you were blindly bashing symbian
2. have you seen "ROOTING" on android? it's 10 times more complicated than getting C6 firmware on my nokia 5230.

Symbian is great. Simple and straightforward UI which also makes it fast. And as the issue was adressed before since the phone's OP will be travelling a suitable data plan good enough for android will be dificult to procure. Nokia is a great brand. Go for the C7 by all means.

So finally going for the C7. Just can someone clarify as to what colour the phone is which is available on letsbuy.

Flipkart does have 3 different colours but nothing like that mentioned on letsbuy.

Not really very important but would be helpful if known.

Mr. aercy doesnt know what he's talking. Also, comp@ddict's been on the forums for 2 years whereas aercy more than 4. And well let the statistics do the talking.

I think post-count and reputation holds more importance than the join date, if you talk about statistics.

I would suggest go for Nokia C7. OVI maps are very detailed, the primary reason being the biggest map maker in the world is Navteq corp. Nokia is the owner of navteq corp.

Moreover it can locate geo-servers with ease. And the menu layout and all is very simple, nothing over the top [read easy to use w/o googling]

i didnt insult him.. , it is an argument.

seriously guys, this isn't a baby forum where 2 heated words end up like this. It's grownups(i hope) and this is an argument, not insulting. DarkAngel, I'm sorry but I just dont agree with you here.

^^ I am getting a feeling that this is something that X7 video (another thread already there) mentions as already there in it.

Good symbian :)
