Hey guys, im looking for an opensource portal script for a community that will have :-
1) Forums integration- if possible phpbb, smf etc
2) News system
3) Articles, etc

A front end to all three is obvious

4) Maybe social networking(not imp)
5) File sharing
6) Rss feeds of all these..

I searched for sometime but couldnt find anything really good..:(

You searched and didn't find anything good

Maybe you didn't look at the right places. I think Joomla does all that. Even Drupal will do it.

I suggest get your hands dirty here: Home - OpenSourceCMS (Click Portals at side)

I would suggest Drupal only if you are willing to learn something yet another time, and you are an awesome web developer / designer already. Such a combination would kill any competition if you're fine enough at your job. :D

SAfin i did look at joomla and all, i dont want to MAKE one..Im asking is there one single script that already does all that..I want community participation in all the above mentioned points.Hope my explanation makes it clear..:)

Vij thanks a lot, but i already have a domain and hosting, what i need is a script like wordpress etc that will help me set up the site..

@gurpratap- I know you're an ace Drupal developer, and on your advice in one of the older threads, i've dropped making my own thing..simply too much of work lik you said..

@shailesh- Any good scripts you know? being a noob, html and css are more than enough to make me :S :P

If you want socail networking you can use google. they have released an api for that. all you have to do is plug and play

Drupal may still work out for you, if all that you are looking for is a basic structure that you can extend anytime later on. Try out some modules and you can always hang in #drupal-support on irc.freenode.net for saving time instead of searching and searching. Launch the website half baked (if feasible), then continue adding more features, etc. Pehle main kuch kehta hun, baad mein kuch. :P :P sorry yar par I want you to try it out now. akhir kaam to sabhi mein karna parrta hai :P :P :P
