Desecrator is correct, I had built one computer for one of my clients almost an year back with ATI Radeon 4870 with plenty of fans (Almost six now 120MM), the power supply was Cooler Master 600W Extreme Power and he used to a complained lot of PC being shut down automatically, freezing and all and finally it blew up within six months. I got him 1000W Real Power Pro and even added more fans to it, now it has been working absolutely fine.

I'll also say that the CM 600w EPP (efficiency is 65% or something) is comparable to a Corsair 400w (80+ ?) at most.

I dont remember accusing u of anything, i myself bought a VX 550 for my new GTX 460 dude, i know CM EPP 600w is not the best PSU around, enough educating k?
LOL who's educating here kid!

Learn the basics before you jump the gun - if you do not know about this power supply, stop mentioning and/or recommending it to others on the forum. For all I know, your friend could even be running his future upgrades with this power supply and it might as well work but that power supply classifies under junk.

Get over it already!

Say what?

At present scenario gtx 460 768 mb is best bang for bucks, but if you are looking for 4 yrs investment than you should seriously think of getting gtx 460/ati 5850, which should give you playable fps at upper mid end resolutions like 1280x1024 or 1680x1050. 4 yrs from now is too hard to predict, even playing present games like crysis, AVP at high end resolutions is a big challenge for mid range gpu's.

^It may work but it isn't the best power supply out there. I wouldn't recommend the Extreme Power Plus range at all leave alone the 500W model for such setups.
so that means i have to upgrade it ... what would u recommend
