Need a speaker system for 40” LED TV

I bought a 40” Phillips 4500 series LED TV.

I’m a little disappointed with the sound.

Can someone recommend a speaker system for around ₹1500-₹2000?

I like sound bars as they take up less space but some of my friends say they are meant for computers and their sound will not be good enough for TVs.

most sound bars come with a sub woofer so the sound quality is good. Without subwoofer you wont get bass
