Hey guys,

I prepare plenty of notes (study related) in my PC and also keep getting notes in the pdf form from various study circles. So I was looking for a cheap laser printer. My printing needs won't be much as such. Just these notes and some IRCTC tickets every now and then. So colour reproduction and stuff and not of utmost importance.

My office has a Samsung ML-1610 which I think will be quite good for me, but I heard that the model has being discontinued. So any suggestions from your side would be helpful.

Thanks.

If there are a lot of printouts the you need black and white laser printer, retails abt 6k, go to a refilling shop nearby and ask which cartridges fill the most easily..

And bugger forward those noter to me too :@

Few yrs back got hp 1012, and its served really well, abt 8-10 times refills with 2k prints in one and a few parts changed..the guy comes and refills and takes 300 per refill..

YOu could also ask local internet cafe owners who do printouts at cheap rates, abt which printer to take..

Dont go for inkjet..

If you dont want to print much then why spend money on a laser ? Get an inkjet printer with a refillable cartridge and a bottle of black ink and refill it yourself whenever you are out of ink .

I read somewhere that laser toner is injurious to health. You might want to check up on this when considering a laser printer :).

HP are the best.I have an internet cafe and we used mostly HP Lazer printers.Ods and odes of printouts stored there if you know from where to get valueable refills on toner.

go for the new samsung printer ML-1666XIP its the smallest desktop printer in India, priced below 5K.comes with fll capacity toner,3 yr warranty option etc...great VFM.Also very easy to refill,no mess ....

I too was planning to go the ML-1666. it has got good reviews too. How many pages will I get from laser and inkjet respectively before I would be needing a refill?
