I am looking to build pc for gaming and personal work

budget - not yet finalised but can spend around 2.50 lac excluding monitor, keyboard mouse, ups

Below is a build which i thought i should consider

1. AMD 9800x3d
2. Rtx 4070 ti super
3. Gigabyte wifi7 aorus 870 elite
4. Corsair Dominator 32 gb 16*2 ddr5 6000 mhz cl30
5. Hyte y70 touch case
6. Corsair rm850watt 80 plus gold
7. NZXT kraken 360 liquid cooler
8. Firecuda 1tb nvme

Rest things like fan, accessories i will buy later

I think you’re spending too much on things like the case because of which you’re reducing your budget for core components such as the GPU. In a budget like yours, you can easily go for a 4080 Super.
how much difference will come in power consumption if i upgrade 4070 to 4080 super? I can get both case and 4080 if difference is not high

Wait for new GPUs. 5070Ti or 5080 should be something you can easily target based on their prices.

If you are looking for productivity work, Nvidia GPUs are better than AMD. Also, get 2x32GB RAM if your work needs RAM because DDR5 is a bit unstable with 4 sticks at high frequency, like 6000MHz.

40k for a case is absurd, but fine if you are getting the top end core components (I am assuming 4090 here), can splurge on stuff like that with extra money. Your call on increasing budget for the case.

Right now fitting a 1L GPU within 2.5L is easy, but the case disrupts the budget. Anyways, your call.

4070 consumes about 200W, while 4080 Super consumes 320W. Source: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/GeForce_40_series#Desktop

That is based on the assumption that the 5000 series is easily available at MSRP, which based on the track record, seems unlikely. Either it will be out of stock for a very long time, or scalpers will sell it at inflated prices. However, if OP can wait for a week or so, they'll have more clarity. Regardless, the prices of 4000 series cards will drop once the new generation is released.

Thanks for sharing insights on Ram.
Is there any info on the motherboard and processor combo?
Also, SSD Firecuda 530 is okay or should I prefer any other SSD instead? Initially, when I thought of building this machine I thought of these cases Lianli o11 vision, Thermaltake view, NZXT h6 Flow. But kya kare pasand toh sabse zada HYTE Y70 Touch aya.

Ditch the case for a better GPU. Your PSU will handle it fine.

Do you really need an x870 motherboard? If your focus is gaming then a B650E motherboard is more than enough. Save that money and put it towards your GPU.

Pairing a 9800x3d with anything less than a 4080 is suboptimal IMO.
