Need advice : Friend needs Laptop within 25K

My friend need a laptop for his better half. Usage would be browsing, office applications and some multimedia.

I stumbled upon HP compaq 325. Seems decent enough for the needs.
HP Compaq 325

• AMD Athlon Dual Core
• 2 GB DDR3 RAM
• 13.3 Inch Screen
• Windows 7 Starter

Is this vfm or any other model you can suggest?

Besides, how is Flipkart for the purchase? Never dealt with them before. They have mentioned "1 Year Domestic Parts & Labour Limited Warranty" - not sure if that is standard.

+1 to Asus model above. Total VFM if you don't need windows. And it is P series I.e. commercial and has better build quality than normal laptops.

I agree the Asus is a great deal but somehow its just toooo good to be true. The same laptop is selling for 35k on flipkart. I really don't get how the seller could sell it at such low price.

Why the fixation with HP/Compaq ? Don't even think of getting those laptops, they are archaic now to be honest and paying so much money to get them would be plain stupid.

Better get AMD fusion netbooks than those.
