I am looking to buy a 1440p gaming monitor preferably with an IPS display with a refresh rate of 165 hz or higher. I got a good deal yesterday on LG 27GS85Q for around 23k but I couldn't find many reviews about the said model and am confused if I should go ahead with my purchase or get another model or a different brand altogether. I was more into buying acer monitors because they were cheap and provided similar features to other brands but heard issues with their products and service. My budget is around 25k. Any advice would be highly appreciated.
I'm currently using a BenQ GW2480 -- a 24" 1080p 60hz monitor that can't even overclock to 75hz. No freesync/g-sync either. Color accuracy and contrast are pretty mediocre etc. The only saving grace is that it's not a TN panel. So I figure anything in the 20k price range would be a massive upgrade for me, both in terms of spatial and temporal resolution. Variable refresh rate would be a godsend as I'm pretty tired of screen tearing.
In terms of gaming, I mostly play singleplayer titles and I want something that, for example, the new Alan Wake game will look best on, but I will...
If OP is thinking of dual monitors, 27" 1440p (XV272U V3) + 24" 1080p in vertical layout (Acer VG240Ys is 10k + 1.5k for stand) will be good for productivity. I'm using this configuration & would prefer this over 2 horizontal monitors (was using that config initially).
