Storage Solutions Need an external HDD casing- SATA

i have one HDD in ma s/m..wanna use it in ma lappy...so could u suggest a nice casing for ma HDD..its sata..

do tell me the price too...

i have heard that there is one with a power cord and one without one...have no clue abt it...

could u tell more abt it? i think its dependant on the casing!!

Difference is that for laptop HDDs (the 2.5" ones), casings are without power cord.. they directly derive power from the USB port. The 3.5" HDDs that you use in desktop PCs need external power supply and hence their casings come with power cable separately.

In your case, being a desktop HDD, you will have no other option but for a casing with separate power adaptor.

I would advise you to go for a reliable casing even if it means spending a few 100 bucks more My recommendation would be a cooler master x craft HDD casing. You can get one from Amarbirji here for about 1200 bucks.. :D

I went to nehru place yesterday looking for coolermaster or transcend casing but cant find it anywhere even at SMC ,so finally settle down for seatech casing ,cost 600rs. zippyss was for 650 rs.
 
Some are saying that there will be detecting problems with the casing. So look for a good a good one while buying :)
