Budget -
What is your budget? Mention Locality/Currency & Price Range.
15k to 35k INR
New or Used? Online or in-store?
Any, if used want atleast 3months warranty, for new, either online/store wherever I can get it at discount

Brand -
Do you have any brand preference or dislikes? Please name them.
I owned a Yu, Mi, Asus and Motorola. Faced service issue with Yu/Micromax so trying to avoid similar brands. Service center should be in Odisha, even better if it can provide onsite warranty.

Usage -
What is your intended use?
Payment, calling and basic apps like chrome, youtube should be buttery smooth, minimal social media. Good camera and battery life. Gaming not a priority.

What is your expected battery backup?
On 5G, WhatsApp or YouTube should run minimum 6hours. Should get through a day without needing to charge the phone. Fast charging a priority.

How long are you intending to use this phone?
As long as it can run. I am still using redmi note 4. An active custom ROM community is a good to have.

Connectivity -
What is your preferred network?
5G with dual band wifi support

What is the number of connections required?
Single sim is ok, dual sim and esim is nice to have.

Platform :
Operating System (OS) -
Do you have any OS preference?
Either android or iOS

RAM & Storage -
How much RAM and Storage do you want?
Minimum 128GB storage and RAM should be enough to run, 2 payment apps, 3 banking apps, chrome and whatsapp concurrently.

Do you want a memory card slot?
Not a priority but nice to have atleast 256GB slot.

Processing power -
Priority for snapdragon, but more priority to custom ROM availability.

Display :
What is your preferred display size, type, resolution and refresh rate?
I would like it to be a small size phone like under 6" , bezel less. If those phones with hidden camera is still manufactured then I would consider it too. Curved is not a priority but nice to have. Definitely don't want the displays which gets green line issue. AMOLED is preferred but not at the cost of green line. If higher frequency helps with smooth UI then yes a priority.

Miscellaneous :
Any other requirements?
3.5Jack , infrared and NFC nice to have not necessary.
A popular phone with easily available tempered glass or cover is nice to have.

If you have already considered a phone, then please mention.
Should feel premium to hold or look at the display, recently tried a poco x6 and felt good.

If any requirement takes a higher priority than
other, mention here.
Least bloatware and smooth software experience> Camera>Battery

Galaxy s23 and pixel 8 covers most of your requirements. Except for the display as both of them have amoled and can get green lines and fast charging is limited to 25w and 30w.
S23 has snapdragon processor while pixel 8 has esim.
Both have 5g but keeping phone on 5g eats your battery life way too much.
Neither have headphone jack , infrared nor memory card.
You can get them in your budget during sale price only or second hand.

As for iphone you can get 13 or 14 second hand. Have esim, no type c, no headphone jack, no memory card.

If you dont like them or want more options then you should increase the size of your screen.

Forgot to mention that I don't want a pixel as it has heating issues in Indian climate. Thanks for the response, s23 was always a consideration. Any better options for slightly larger size phones around 6.5" screen?

The Moto Edge 50 Neo is good if you want a relatively compact phone for a cheaper price. It will meet all your requirements except the 6 hours of SOT on 5G.

Nothing Phone 2a is another good choice.

If you want a great set of cameras, S23 256GB at 41k or so is definitely a good choice. Also, Samsung's UI is the best IMO. I am using it, I can get upto 6 hour SOT on WiFi, but like 4-4.5 hours on 5G. Cheaper mid-range phones will last longer than S23 in terms of battery life.

IMO avoid Honor, Tecno, Lava, Oppo & Vivo phones (the latter 2 make value-for-money phones via Oneplus, Realme & iqoo). If you can wait for sometime, can consider waiting for new Oneplus, Realme or iQoo options that will launch in next 2-3 months, like OP 13R (check specs of Ace 5)

You can go for one plus nord ce 4. Fast snapdragon processor, fast charging, can use microsd card but only with one sim card. Within your budget. Recently one plus has announced that they will offer free replacement of their screens with green line issue.

Cons would be that os that they use. Its fine but not what it used to be. You can use custom rom but look into the warranty details first. Camera will not be as great as s23 or pixel. No nfc. No ip67. No headphone jack.

If you can spend more money you can go for one plus 12r. Better display, better processor, has nfc.
