^^ ha ha ha ..same here .i use to go crazy looking at the graphics, sceneries etc. at times when some of the tracks ..were tough for me ..like just one single turn would spoin the race...i used to complete even 7-10 times till i used to come first ..:P

.IMO it's the best racing game ive ever played..i think i was in 5th std at that time ..and had a celeron rig with some 256 MB of RAM...infact i think even the video was either the onboard or mx4000..

but still the game was a treat to play !!

The most dissapointing about NFS5 was that NFS6 came next.:hap5: The god like physics of NFS5 just went to hell with NFS6. They should've just ended the series right with NFS5.

I agree with all the NFS 5 PU comments here. I remember playing it while I was in school.... around 6 years back.

Some open source game devs should come together and code that game again using the NFSMW engine or maybe... the source engine.

The Black Mesa project is doing a remake of HL1, so why not NFSPU? :)

I couldn't agree more... bring the Porsche back !!

I love the Carrera GT in MW, but then first love is always first love... Porsche 911 Carrera. :)

NF6 just ruined the series. If NFS6 wasn't so horribly bad they wouldn't have changed the theme of NFS, but since it sucked so bad they had to go with change and it worked really well for them, so they went ahead and made UG1 which was good but repetitive, then UG2 which brought the free roam concept, I hated UG2 , i just didn't like the way the game progressed, it was just overdoing the pimping part, i never understood why we had to customise things like speakers which were not visible during gameplay anyway.

Then MW came, and some lamborghinis to go with it, NFS was finding its foot again with cop chases and stuff. After that its just been the same thing packaged in different avatars.

I played GRID and it just kicks the butt out of every NFS in the near past on gameplay. It sticks to no no nonsense racing. NFS unfortunately has lost its soul :( Blame it all on Hot pursuit 2 :@

Nfs Porshce was when I got hooked onto the series, loved it for being so arcadeish, mfs mw was great too but beyond that it hasn't been great, for simulations nothing beats GT

For me PU was the best. Great times in the factory driver stages. Also buying used cars and selling them off to make money was fun in those days :P
EA should bring the PU concept back for other car companies.

NFS:pU's factory mode beats the shit out of every other racer's single player career, championship, tournament, whatever mode which are essentially just a bunch of quick races blatently slapped together.

cannot disagree with that :)

yup test drive 6 was teh shit, loved the songs they had not just techno but nice hip hop and some slow songs.they also put out test drive unlimited which was supposed to have a very large multiplayer but it did not succeed as they expected.

after GRID i don't think i will play nfs crap anymore, until they get someone like mia to egg me on:ohyeah:

NFS Porche was the most perfect racing game. EVER. Not as realistic as GRID (I havent played it) or GTR 2 or whatever, but who cares!! It was awesome. Everytime someone mentions this game, I cant help going ga-ga over it. I had such fun times playing this game.

I used to bunk college, come back home and play this game on the common system we had till 1:00. Then my mom used to come home and I would be like "I was not well" or "No classes today" or "teacher on leave today" .

I totally love this game. Even today, it feels brilliant. In spite of all the newer games, when you play NFS PU, you dont feel you are playing an eight year old game. The controls are fabulous. The damage looks awesome. The game is so realistic. You see thedriver's hands on the steering wheel and when you change gears, his hands actually move to the gear lever. When you honk, his hands move.

Epic stuff!!

And don't forget those tracks. Every single one of them was sheer artistic brilliance.
Hard to believe NFS went from that to having just one track for the entire game.

Ya guys i too loved to play that game and when i owned an Computer Institute we had a Racing contest on every alternate saturdays as it was out games day and i used to rule the tracks then. I really admire that game :hap2:

Gametrailers.com - Need for Speed: Undercover - Developer Diary: Controls

Just saw this video, and i have lost even more faith in the direction EA is taking the nfs series. Theyre making button combos to do 360s, j-turns and even one to come to a stop and reverse when faced with a road-block. The weirdest thing is that the guy is talking about how accurately the physics are mapped out and applied to the game at the same time as this controller nonsense. if the game physics are that good, let the player learn the skills to do all the above mentioned moves himself and not make bullshit macros to do it for you.

90%+ of opinions I read online about the NFS franchisee loved MW and PU. I wonder what EA is doing dis-regarding that...

+1 to that. Seriously , that takes the racing fun out of it. Let's see how it turns up , with only a few days to go.
