^^ Another problem that you will face with cheaper batteries is the flash recharge time, i.e, the flash will take more time to recharge, and hence time between two snaps will be higher at night / relative dark. So you are better off spending a couple of hundred bucks for a better photographic experience IMO. You spent so much money for your camera - you need to provide it with some juice ! :P

Edit: I got the Eneeloops for 600, and an Indian quick charger for 300(the shop guy swore by its performance, and I had gone there on reference).

Cheers !

ok...well i finally get the point as to why people have been pushing me to buy SANYO ENELOOPS......and finally....i am going to purchase one...but may be next month......;)

Until then, get a 6pack of duracell alkalines. Last for around 150 shots per pair of batteries.. costs around 90 bucks.

I have Fujicell charger & 2 AA cells with 2800Nimh capacity, setup is working fine. Total cost was ~ 600/-

A cheaper option is the Kodak 620 charger with 4x2100 maH NiMH cells. Not sure what the price is now but I bought it a couple of months back for I think Rs. 625/- or so from JJ Mehta.
It is easily available now in many stationery stores as well.

Dude try the chameleon rechargable cells. It is 2700 mA capacity. Really good

Did you ever read the posts recommending sanyo eneloop batteries? Please dont recommend products blindly. Google or read the posts and links in this thread (about sanyo eneloop), then you will know why hybrid batteries are much better option than these regular rechargable batteries.

people r posting without even reading the thread

i bought 2 x 2 AA pack of Camelion Always Ready CAMELION
based on teh same principle as eneloop as tehy were decently priced 275 a pack , so 490 for 4 of em
