Audio Need help choosing headphones

^^ Umm he mentioned 4200 !!! Anyways you made a good choice with the JVC. They are considered to be on par with the A900 which is far more expensive (cant verify that since I have neither, but when it comes from so many people on head-fi I believe it to be true.)

Oh yea, sorry i missed it.

HeadFi is in awe of both the JVCs Afaik... but very few have mentioned the actual difference between both of them or i may have not understood the jargon used there. Can someone enlighten here?

^^from wt i read rx 900 has larger cans giving somewhat better bass...otherwise both are same and both produce excellent bass as needed by u:p

Deep Bass = i am happy. :D

But i am still stuck at one question that no one has yet answered :|

Will they sound good with Xonar DX :p

  I still have an option to sell them off. Not if i open them.. so you better tell me or else I will come to Baroda and snatch "MY" computer from you

Xonar DX drives the RX700 without any issues. The RX900 should be just about fine. If you feel they need some amp-ing, you can start off with a cheap Fiio Amp. There's a wild argument/discussion here - http://www.techenclave.com/audio-zone/discussion-about-the-fiio-amp-139671-2.html. :p

Use the Xonar DX + RX900 as a cheap starting point. Your setup will definitely be miles ahead of all the Rs. 1000 - 2000 locally available headphones running on onboard sound solutions. Give them a week or two to burn-in.

Once you know you like what you hear, you can go ahead and buy the Xonar Essence STX, a more expensive amp and headphone.

Its not 'better' bass. Its boomier bass and slightly deeper bass. Depends on your tastes.

^ just what i like ;)

the only problem with RX900 is that they are not going to be portable. People would laugh if i wear it outside my house :S
