This EVGA 8800 Gt would fit ur budget, and its double slot cooling , so if ur case has good airflow, these cards should overclock well, but I'd say the performance would be slower than the gx2, more or less near to 3870x2+3870. What motherboard are you going to be using?

hmm.. with your 13k (~$300) budget i dont think you will be able to buy 2x8800GT. The cheapest 8800gt on newegg with shipping would be close to $190.

I think with your budget and SLI being your requirement you would be able to get 2x9600GT which should be very nice:hap2:

This article might help you :)

PCI-EXPRESS INTERFACE: $300 to $400 - Tom's Hardware : Best Graphics Cards for the Money: June 08

The ones I mentioned above are $159 a piece btw! Without shiping and taxes, and yea they would come arnd $350 shipped I think.

Edit: If u wait a little till the launch of GTX280/260 the prices might come down a little.

are there any problems while using sli ??Will 88gts give good performance in crysis??.....and ill go 4 evga 750i mobo,Q9450 and 4 gb ram.

the problem is tht the person coming from usa is comin on the 19th so i need to order before tht...:(

The 9800gtx is a a good card it overclocks well as compared to 8800gts, though at current prices a gts is a better bargain, If u dont plan to sli then go with a 3870x2, You can later add a 3870 to do a tri crossfire, when its cheaper. A x2 will run all games as of now on decent resolution at pretty good fps and when u feel like, u can add a 3870, which would have come down in price! btw which resolution are u planin to play on? that should have been the first question ,coz if ur playin at 1280x1024 a single gts should be enough for some time

sli works best at high resolutions like 1680x1050,get 8800gt sli if you have a 20'' or bigger monitor otherwise a 8800gts or 9800gtx will do.ati cards suck at crysis,if you wanna play crysis at very high don't bother going red.

2 X 8800GT .. if this shoots your budget get 2 X 9600GT.

A word of caution, all multi GPU solutions are highly driver dependent, so if a game releases and Nvidia delay appropriate sli drivers there can be a situation wherein you will get performance of just one card. In that case a 9800GTX would be a better choice.

*Driver support though still nascent, it is improving all the time.

@imax2k2......i have a 22inch monitor ill play mostly on full res...will 98gtx be enuff for 1680x1050 res.

For Crysis no, but for COD4 and the like yes.

But it would be really "Really" wise to postpone for two weeks before u have even prettier gfx at an way better prices :)

even a single 8800gt is great for COD4, you can pretty much play it at max settings @1650x1050 very smoothly.

If you are very keen on SLI, on your budget go for 2 9600gt's.

Read up some reviews and get a good idea for yourself, i am not very convinced about buying the 9800gtx.

i can stretch my budget thts not a a problem...so two 88gts is wat u recommend:hap2: .....will try to wait and see if prices go down:cool2:

Get two 8800GT on sli ... but make sure u get evga cause then u can use the 90 day step up programme to upgrade to the newer NV series coming soon..
