CPU/Mobo Need Help: PC not POSTing

Actually his onboard LAN port has got some burn marks on it. He said some routers of Nivyah broadband went kaput after a lightning strike and so did his onboard LAN port.
PM'ed you my number. Looks like it's the season of systems crashing and failing! :(
 
i had a similar problem , turned out to be dust shorting , very erractic behaviour , remove all , clean the cabinet and fix it again

I will anyway take apart the system tomorrow, so will clean it. I hope it is this simple. If this resolves the issue, I'll ship a beer to you! :beer:
 
Update!

It's the PSU. I am writing this while using the same system that refused to boot. Plugged in the same iBall 400W PSU and it's running like a dream. Now, I need to find a good PSU that can power my rig. Opening a new thread for that. Thanks everyone for your suggestions. :)
