I need a help regarding HP dv5 1002 au laptop. The laptop doesn't turn on and only the caps/scroll lock led's blink. After reading an initial diagnosis page on HP support forums I found that the motherboard has some problem.
Then I took it to HP service center and they told me that the RAM slots on the motherboard are faulty and asked me to replace the whole motherboard as it is beyond repair.The quotation given by them is of Rs. 15k and they can offer me a max. of 5% discount on it.
Please help me that should I go for a replacement or it can be repaired.If the replacement is required can I get a less price? and can I do the replacement at home?.
