so vx 450 would be more than enough for me

Can you please send me a link to a smiley where i bang my palm on my forehead? :(

I was hoping you would check this link-

Will Corsair CX400 handle HD 5770?? - Digit Technology Discussion Forum - Tech Discussion Forums in India

Not the one later where i just provided a link to a previous post on TE where i said what i repeated here.

And even in the link which was just posted for the source to my quotes, i used you as an example to suggest why someone should get VX550 instead of a VX450.

So everywhere i have said you are safer/smarter buying a VX550- phew!! :)

I so dislike spoon-feeding. :(

What i was hoping to explain with the content in the above link was that-

People seem much more aware of the importance of having a good quality PSU than sometime back.

It's good to see people suggest good quality PSUs like VX450, etc.

But it seems some people also take test figures or statements of reviewers literally.

They end up suggesting a VX450 where a buyer would be safer/smarter buying a VX550 or TX650.

Caution: Any good PSU is only good till the manufacturer's specs or "slightly" beyond (only in some very high quality ones) imho.

We shouldn't expect it to function normally for regular usage or over a period of time when overloaded.

A small car may pull heavy loads at whatever pace it might manage but sooner or later it may have a breakdown and a big one mostly.

An overloaded PSU may die suddenly and may kill/burn any peripheral/component feeding off it just like a bad PSU can.

Dear sir,

The MSI GTX260, like most GTX260 cards, requires 2x PCIe 6-pin power connectors iirc (if i remember correctly).

And i strongly recommend/suggest and also sincerely request all to use a good quality power supply that has 2x PCIe power connectors native when using cards that require that.

eg. VX550.

The VX450 will be the bare minimum i would suggest for your system only if you are really unable to afford a VX550.

VX450 has only one 6-pin connector for the gfx card and one will have to use a '2x molex>PCIe' convertor cable for the second power input on the card and that imho (in my humble opinion) is not recommended at all.

You may go through this thread about one guy wanting to buy a new PSU for a card(temporary it seems) that needs only one PCIe connector.

Some people were suggesting VX450 very strongly and some were suggesting it's safer and wiser to spend little more and get VX550.

He said generic 500 and not any good quality 500.

I also found this thread in one of the sections and it explains quite a few things about PSUs in general while discussing the problems of a certain PSU that was supposed to be 600W.

You will find many more good threads here, especially if you search for PSU-related threads. :)

thanks mate

now i will going to get corsair vx 550 no matter what happens,i almost destroyed my Graphic Card

by using Gigibyte LC400.My card used to freeze in between game and then defreezes after few second

But i would still like more sugestions guys

VX550 is the lowest i will suggest to those who have gfx cards that reuire 2x PCIe connectors.

I won't stop you from buying a TX650, HX750 or higher if you can afford the same. :)
