need help regarding scooty...

well i m planning to get a scooty for myself...and will try it for a year and will then giv it full fledgely to my sis............
well i m getting scooty becoz i dont know how to drive a bike...also once my cycle skidded and went below tata safari and after that i never drove my cycle outside the building.....so wanted to learn and get judgment......so wanted to know which one is good...i wanted nova 135 but frnd says kinetic is not good...but mouthshut supports it over activa.........
also i wont b getting activa as sis doesnt lik it........and i guess 44k is much...someone giv some idea abt a good scooty and how is pep btw?????
 
hey my gamer frnd has honda dio only...and he drives it lik a dhoom bike....while buying psp i was on his dio and was praying all the time...will consult him regarding this..i totally 4got abt it....but its ard 37k as he mentioned...... other options still open...
 
How old r u and your sis!!:)
i guess it will be her first ride!!:)
If she kinda young then the pep will be better to learn and handle!!:)
Its a no fuss machine if you use good fuel from good pumps and get it serviced regularly at the authorised workshop!! Will check if ther are any issues with it!!
Avoid roadside mechanics!!:@
And you can bring it over to my(well, almost mine) garage for any help!!:hap2:
Most Reputed Yamaha/TVS showroom/workshop people know me by face!! I always did my own stuff!! Was more like the Mad scientist+Crash test dummy, rolled into one!!:rofl:
Nova not so great when it comes to after sales service and availability of spares!! My friend's sis bought one and its lying unused!!:(
Honda any day!! Though me not Honda fan!!:)

both r 20+(sis 24 me 22).....but since once while driving cycle i skidded below a car i never took the risk again...but now for small works i needed to go to nearby area and i prefer walking(but lot of time goes in it).....
so was thinking to get a bike...but as i dont know how to drive i thght scooty will b mor perfect and its better sis also learns it......
wanted to avoid activa as it looks heavy and cost heavy also...also i dont want to spend mor than 30-35k...but can increase if i get a good machine...sis likes bajaj sapphire.....but my frnd being a dealer of bajaj..says better to go with honda......
alo dude where is your almost yours garage????lol...

btw(why to avoid roadside mechanics...as beneath my building there r 3-4 shops)
 
Dude you can settle for pep, its kind of nice looking and easy to ride, its good for the newbies.

One thing most users forget is the Resale value!! its not like we gonna hang on to a vehicle forever!! Unless its moi bikes- my babes!!:tongue:
So in order of reliability,
Honda/Scooty/Bajaj(any god damn model:@ )
DtSi is good tech but i despise bajaj's quality of components!!:@
In order of resale value, its the same!!:)
Ther are many papas who want a well maintained 2-wheeler for their darling daughters!!:cool2:

So if you and your sis can handle the Activa, size and price, go for it!!
Compared to DIO,
Its got better legroom, seat to footboard ratio, metal panels unlike plastic in Dio= durable, less angled and maybe wider pillion seat area= better for saree and salwar kameez clad mom/girl pals!!
Else the next best thing would be the Scooty Pep, and i kinda like Preity too!!:rofl:

hey thks for your points.....will take that points into consideration.......and most probably will go with pep(budget probs...)............since its a light bike and yup my sis is that creature while riding a cycle...when seeing something bad going to happen shouts and trashes...but 4gets there is a device called breaks.....

And i seriously hope you kidding about your sis!! You can break anything as long as its not bones in your body!! And with 2wheelers, you r at risk, whether you err or someone else does!!
Its OK to do that while riding a cycle but not for motorised 2wheelers!! You need to be in control, not panic and try to manoeuvre out of harms way!!

Frankly speaking, like Bike pointed out Honda has by far the best resale value, but i am not convinced about the resale value of the Scooty Pep.

If you are planning to go in for a Scooty pep, i suggest you go in for Wave DTS-i as it is a much better bike and the quality of the components of Bajaj is definitely up to the mark now.

Especially considering the number of Pulsars and the number of CT-100s that they are selling they cannot afford to be low on quality.

The problem with Pep is that it is a trifle too small and it is a tight fit for two people and the power stakes are totally different.

The TVS Scooty Pep+ produces a measly 5PS while the Wave produces 8PS at almost the same price and it is definitely a bigger bike.

Finally your call about how you decide to make your boat float.
 
I agree with Soulweaver. Bajaj is definitely one of the best manufacturers in India maybe second only to Honda but not by much.

And yeah, WEAR A HELMET. IT SAVED MY LIFE. IT COULD SAVE YOURS.
 
Okk ill buy helmet before i buy the bike.....and yup i giv preference to precautions...so will wear it nytime i ride.....btw frnd told me he will give details abt wave dtsi as he has his dealership...and also there is bajaj service point near my house...so might go with that...then will try to persuade my dad
 
every one is hear pointing for activa over scooty....

i have a few concerns though

activa is little on heavier side for a female to handle.

what about fuel consumption (i have a few friends using activa they are getting 30-35 kmpl) which is tad higher, will cost more on a longer run.

resale value : scooty is not behind ( i got 6k for my old scooty which my sister used for 7 years and it was used heavily. it never gave any problems in fuel consumption only point against was the age.

for a female i would advise scooty pep any day.

bajaj wave dtsi : i will stay away from a new bajaj product till is hit with the markets. i have bajaj legend 150 cc four scooter and it did not do well in market and now they have withdrawn spares support too. no resale value so i am using it till it dies.

keep going on discussion i am planning to purchase one in a day or two for my wife so me too looking at the options.
 
dont go for the wave. my friend is having problems with it. (starting, idling, etc)

I think sales of certain models shouldn't affect our decision, especially considering the difference in class and purpose of the vehicles mentioned!!

The Fiero(the older f1), was miserable in sales charts, mainly due to its pathetic styling!! But ask those who owned one and apart from the styling,i guess they won't have much to complain about!!:)
I personally feel that it just shows how good the Bajaj guys are with their Marketing!!:ohyeah:
Its not that Bajaj products are bad but me had several interactions with Bajaj engineers and even they are not so happy with Quality- but they got a job that pays well and they gotta do wot the Top boss says!!:bleh:
I personally feel that Bajaj is King when it comes toproviding newer and better technology!!:)
Its a DOG eat DOG world and you have to compromise somewhere to give Good Tech at Lower prices!!:@
Plus More features at lower prices and finance @0% interest are too good to resist for any Tom, Dick or Harry!!:clap:
There are other reasons too but this post would go on for quite some time and i do not want to scare you!!:P

Well I here have 2 activas and both are great, but yeah they are in heavier side 4 the females;;; anyway If u can afford then u should go fr the dio

otherwise scooty pep is also very good.Infact because of the ligjhter kerb weight it has beter fuel efficiency and better accelaration then activa...
