@m-jeri sorry, my post was meant to the people who have issues in operating india based bank accounts from abroad.. where usually its been restricted as a security measure by asking to enter secure codes which being to sent to registered mobile numbers :(. For eg.. in my case, the salary being credited in to AXIS bank and for any transfer from my axis i need to enter netsecure code, but my BSNL does not have roaming facility:( similar situations, mobile application works fine.

If you have android device and the apps of various banks like ICICI etc and it is working fine on the device then i strongly suggest you that if ever you decide to update or change ROMs in your phone, do ensure you take a backup of the app including data (very important) using Titanium Backup. There is a good chance that after you change ROMs and freshly install the app, it might not work (as in authentication and all). Restoring data will make it as it was before the ROM change.
I did this backing up and restoring with data on my android device when i had changed ROM.

Ok. So I have isafe app in my smart phone. So if i use a sim from US then also the app will work?

Doesnt the number change affect it? I was thinking of setting my kerala phone as my ICICI number. So that in intl roaming i will get the SMS.

Yes, it does work! I'm currently using different SIM(sim i got locally in the country where I'm now). isafe, imobile, axis mobile, sbi freedom works without any issues. Only thing, make sure everything is setup/activated and working in india before you leave!
