Any suggestions, it disconnects me from online games, even stops my downloads, n videos

Change the DNS in Router to below and then run a ping test.

208.67.222.222
208.67.220.220

Its MTNL right ?

I dont think the issue is DNS related. Its a packet loss issue which is mostly caused due to problems in the line.

@OP, can you run a few extended pings (atleast 1000 packets) to these IP's: 4.2.2.2, 8.8.8.8, 74.125.236.112 and post the results here.

For eg. I ran for 10 packets using "ping 4.2.2.2 -n 10" and the results are:

Ping statistics for 4.2.2.2:
Packets: Sent = 10, Received = 10, Lost = 0 (0% loss),
Approximate round trip times in milli-seconds:
Minimum = 146ms, Maximum = 146ms, Average = 146ms

Check the MTU settings on the OS and modem both. Try reducing it to 1400 and reboot both modem and OS?

boogeyman, what are these Ips and what will i understand if there are ping drops on these ips
also vishal, will changing the MTU have consequences on speed of internet , also what do i change the value to ?? (does it depend on some factor?)

If you see packet drops while pinging only to 59.185.0.23 and not for any of these IP's, it rules out your line being problematic

4.2.2.2 is a public DNS server, 8.8.8.8 is another public DNS server provided by Google and the 3rd one is www.google.com's IP
