According to me you should buy VPCEB46FG. You'll get Core i5 for 2k less, VPCEB36FG is expensive because of different colour options and proccy is also i3.... I've never used Toshiba so no idea of ASS but as far as Sony in concerned ASS is awesome (at least at my place).......

Well, though I recommend Dell for Laptops, but in this case I won't recommend it over Sony(Vaio)

VAIO build quality is way better than the newer dells(especially the inspirons)

Do keep in mind that vaio EB46 costs less as sony has removed the awesome Full HD display which is/was available in EB36.
