Need Inverter and Battery help

N
Indeed the older pre bankruptcy ones and even the newer ones are all really reliable.

Im talking about the new su kam ones which are still available on the market. infact I am using it currently.

Exact model is Brainy+ 2500
Now sukam is no more right, now there is suwastik created by same guy.

I think sealed batteries have lower life than flooded batteries (as long as you maintain their water level).
Is it? Most websites claim that they have a better life and are more resilient to deep discharge cycles too.

Both Exide and Luminous launched Sealed GEL Batteries and both those models were discontinued and they replaced 90% of the batteries they sold with flooded batteries in warranty afterwards.

These batteries didnt even run the full 3-4 year warranty period forget 5-15 years. As it stands today both these brands do not sell any gel based inverter batteries.

Thank you.. so that's why I'm not able to see those models in Exide website.. I found it odd that these were seen in random third party sites only.

I think @enc0dex264 has already provided a more authoritative answer. But, I am speaking from personal experience. In India, you cannot trust almost any reviews.

Heres my recommendations if you care about getting the max lifespan from your batteries:

Exide Invatubular range has 1200 cycles.
Luminous Solar Tubular also has 1200 cycles but the company can technically refuse warranty if you don't pair them with a solar inverter.
Luminous Life-Max or Inverlast has similar performance to Exide Invatubular.

The above models you can easily get 7-10 years lifespan if you maintain them properly.

Previously these brands would regularly issue pamphlets to dealers and flaunt how their batteries are the best.. but now you are lucky if you see the proper AH rating on the lower end models.

Even if the websites don't show the cycle counts anymore. The above recommendations is based on my personal customer experience and working in the field for a few years.

Might not be relevant to the thread but I recently gave this new company a new shot for a short time rental on lithium ion inverters in Blr: https://photonboxx.com/
My requirements are not that high as electricity cuts on an average in my area are on the shorter end but so far the experience has been pretty good.

@enc0dex264 Thanks for the detailed reply. I am set on getting an Exide only, and I'm getting quotes from different dealers within the town.

On a completely different note, what would be the ideal location to place the inverter/battery in the house? The previous tenants of my apartment seem to have made provisions to install it in a loft, which has PVC doors. Any words of caution against this arrangement?

Does it have ventilation. I would place it near a window or near a exhaust vent. During charging it produces Hydrogen gas.

You can also get a exide solar battery these are heavier with thicker lead plates. They only need to be topped with water once a year. Models like 6LMS150L the L at end means its a 5 year full replacement warranty version. While the one without L is lighter 3 year full replacement version.

These will last 9 to 10 years with just once a year of filling water. In hotter areas it may require to fill water once in 10 months.

Unfortunately no. I could leave the door open all the time or remove the door itself, if it would help.

I believe @enc0dex264 also mentioned earlier about solar batteries. I'm only worried that the warranty will not be honoured if it is not used with a solar inverter.

No one checks. It rarely ever fails within its 5 year warranty.

As long as the room window is open you should be good. It will be problem if its in a closed air conditioned room with no ventilation.

It only needs 4% hydrogen in air to cause a fire or explosion. Usually alarms systems in UPS rooms are set at 1% hydrogen gas.
