No offence man but i think these words are undigested.:P No offence ;)
i've more than 3000's posts on other forums, if you have time you can check how many members i've reckoned NV card..there is nothing to get shocked..btw, don't make this thread a General talk.:)

GTX 260 without a doubt unless u wanna get the 4870 dual gpu one ;) THAT is a monster card...but go for nvidia..more reliable

Go for GTX 260 216SP nothing beats this card in its price ratio..........

well, I am sorry. If price/performance is what you look for, don't look beyond a 4870 512 MB if you are @ 1680X1050. It's for less than $200. For resolutions above that, 4870 1GB is better value for money as compared to GTX 260 216 though GTX is better card.

Check the link that I posted. The GTX 260 is for $229 as compared to the 4870 for $224. A price difference of only $5. What do you mean by better value for money? :S

4870 is even cheaper locally now; around 12.9k and no warranty issues too :)

Core 216 is better, but only when you play on higher resolutions imo.

^ I was tempted too to pick up the 512 MB but to make my rig a bit more future proof, I want to go in for the 896MB/1GB version. Though for smaller resolutions, there is nothing that can beat this deal as of now.

The 4870 1GB is better at 225USD. For higher resolutions, the 1GB RAM in the 4870 kicks in and takes a significant lead as against the GTX.

@morgoth: how exactly is the GTX better than these? :P

you have an 19" Monitor ..........

so 4870 512MB will be great on ur system .
u can get MSI 4870 512MB for12.8k locally ........wat more do u want ehh?
http://www.techenclave.com/dealer-s-paradise/msi-4870-12800-rs-only-r4870-127280.html

4870 & GTX260 are almost the same in performance . going for either will be ur BEST bet under 15k .

if u r getting GTX260 / 4870 1GB from 1KMD for 15k it's not worth
coz u can get 4870 512MB is 12.8k is better VFM(rather it offers BEST VFM) .
also 512MB of memor would be neough for ur gaming purpose (on 19" monitor). morever , it has local guarantee (prefered to be on safe side) .

for u getting GTX260 /4870 1GB / 4870 512MB will be almost same in performance .

so MSI 4870 512MB .........n u can save money as well .

It depends on what resolutions are used.....
IMHO
Low resolutions 260 beats the crap out of 4870...:ohyeah:
Higher ones like above 1600 and all eye candy 4870 rules esp with 1gb over 900odd mb of 260....
overall 4870 is better as future games with more eyecandy will work better with 4870....
advantage of higher memory and more sp's
I am havin a 1280x1024 now....
I am lookin forward for another allowance from dad to get a 260 216sp...
Will upgrade soon as the 4900 series or rather the 5000 series releases ..:hap2:

^ not always dude. Lower resolution are bottleneck for 260/4870. You will even find, GTX 260 beating 285 at 1280. This isn't the resolution to measure power of high end cards..:)
