Hi
I'm using GA-965P-DS3 with a Q660 and my northbridge temperatures sometime touch 50 on load, so if anybody can provide some used small fans from any dead graphic cards which could be put on the small northbridge heatsink to cool it

Thanks
Prashant

Hey im having an Dead A-Open 6600GT, its pristine card but dead, has fan. If u need it I can send the fan and card for free, but if u pay me 50 or 100 bucks for shipping.

The card can be get to work, if u can find Capacitors for it, but i couldnt service it in chennai.

^^thts pretty big for cooling a north bridge...i think some cooling solutions from cards of entry level mite b good enough(with heatsink-fins centred by a small fan in a circular manner)....but not this kinda design..

p.s. which cam??...nice pics.

why not fix any 40mm fan with help of clamp on NB heat sink.Just simple modification of fixing clamp.By this you will be able to mount any fan easily from market.

the heatsink should be a better conductor and efficient enough so tht the fan can blow off the warm air or blow cool air into the hs..so i guess tht mod wont do any good....any big fan with high cfm on sidepanel of the cabbie(with the air duct) can do tht job of blowin air onto the hs:)

u can get a 40mm x 38mm fans...locally(with some pain)...but mind u these roar a lot:cool2: .

Actually I have a 80 mm fan on the side panel blowing air on it and that brought down the temperature from 50 to 45, so will try with a better fan

Thanks a lot, seems will close this thread, but one more query anyone know of a good heatsink for NB, anyone having one from any dead motherboards

^^yep tht wud b pretty good..meanwhile you can jus get an airduct to guide the intake ari and a high cfm fan to blow all the air onto the sink..:)

Sorry for hijacking your thread but this reminded me that I too need a Fan for my 6600GT which has been lying around for sometime (and I am forced to use TI4200 on my other machine). Actually I got this card from Supra long time back and he had already removed the original fan and fixed in a normal fan using fevi kwik . The fan worked well for long time but now it has gone kaput. I tried to find a fan here in Gwalior but to no avail. So anyone willing to send me a fan that will fix here? preferably free but I can try to pay for shipping to Gwalior.

Here are few pics (sorry for bad quality).

thanks.
