make sure you get international warranty on whatever you get your hands on & you do get good ones in india on competitive rates as well, what is so much about "ABROAD" thingy ????

it was a big thing during the 80's, we're the center of the world now.

I'm sure none of the manufacturers would solicit international warranties on LCDs.

Besides, there's a big difference in the amount you'd spend on a LCD if you end up buying from abroad. Esp. the south-east Asian countries such as Singapore, Malaysia, HK, Thailand etc. The transportation part is a bit difficult but nothing that cannot be managed.

JFYI, I've put up the market pricing for the Sony 32EX400:

Singapore pricing vs. Indian pricing.

Note that the retail pricing is a lot cheaper. 33Rs against a SGD - do your math. ;)

Well as some have reported earlier one can get a 40'' sony lcd for 38k with free dvd player in singapore, with your 30k budget add a little more and you can buy the 32'' EX500.

Thanks guys for suggesting but as almost everybody suggested the same model 32" Ex400 should I go for that only or if by increasing my budget slightly I can get a better model.I m Still confused:huh: .Guys I have to finalize this by tonight as my cousin is coming on 23.So please help me in finalizing it ASAP.Sorry for troubling u guys on such a short notice but I m sure u Guys will help me out. Thanks in advance

One more query what will be the approx transportation charges n any ideas to save the custom duty :)

^^^^^Both at par almost heavily depending upon model to model. Samsung is in any case making LCD Panels for both.

It is advisable to write only when you're sure about the information being provided is correct.

"Samsung is in any case making LCD Panels for both" - An incomplete and false statement, both Samsung and Sony uses SPVA panels, continue to educate yourself if you need more information as below:

Subject - SPVA

TFT LCD - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

To highlight main content in the above material is - "Patterned vertical alignment and super patterned vertical alignment (S-PVA) are alternative versions of MVA technology offered by Samsung's and Sony's joint venture S-LCD.".

Sony yet offers better picture quality, however using the same SPVA panels, because of development and assembling comparisons, that is the reason why Sony TVs are expensive compared to Samsung counterparts. Sony is expensive because it is a reputed brand name, I'll give 30% more expense just because of branding.

Just to add more, I'm an owner of Sony Bravia KLV-32NX500, I'm really happy with it, for some reasons people hate reflective glasses, while it barely makes any difference while watching any content on the TV, as you would be concentrating more on what's being displayed rather what's being reflected. Apart from that, reflective glasses or glossy finish on Monitors/LCDs was never in question before, as traditional CRT Monitor and TVs we used to have before had "glossy" finish.

^^ for how much did u got NX500 and from where did u purchased it ?

I got rates for EX400= 749 S$ , EX600 - 1250 S$ at mustafa in Singapore. What are their grey market prices .I m from delhi just thinking if it doesn't have much difference Ill prefer buying from delhi itself.

I purchased it for Rs. 42,900/- from E-Mart (Sony Center) "after" carefully examining all other Sony 32" models connected to an isolated Blu-Ray player. I also made sure about the Video settings, I played around a bit with all Sony LCD TV series, NX Series is indeed peerless, though people here would disagree with me. But hey, may be I got prodigious eyes ;)

I predicate NX Panel uses SPVA 10-bit color depth compared to nominal 8-bit color depth.

Its an 8 bit panel. If it were a 10 bit panel, sony would be hard sell the same as it did in the X450A, Z and ZX1 series.

Hello friend,

No I was not interested in any other brands, having said that, I was slightly inclined towards LG 80FR but it was horrible in regards to the picture quality to me, so I steered my concentration towards Sony, and only Sony.

KLV-46X450A : X Series : BRAVIA LCD TV : Sony India

KLV-40ZX1 : ZX Series : BRAVIA LCD TV : Sony India

Soumyajeet, thanks for the clarification. I am not sure but I think, I read somewhere that NX uses 10-bit color depth, though I don't have any material/content or any source to show credibility of my statement, however with all due respect, may I ask if you have any source/content or material where it reads it uses 8-bit color depth?

Thanks

The 32" panels rarely are 10 bit,i doubt sony uses 10 bit panels in the low end nx500,but may be in the nx800.
