That should be only in regards to features available, not panels, for example (Motion Flow, Wi-Fi etc.,).

There is a lot of difference in the panels used, sony uses upto 4 or even 5 different lcd panels in their tvs AMVA3,SPVA,new improved ASV, UV2A(240hz native) with some of bigger version like HX and LX using sharp UV2A panels this year.In low end models like Tseries or BX300 they also use panels from CPT industries.
So all these panels have different contrast, viewing angles, response time, colors due to different color filters, backlight used ,8 or 10 bit colors etc.

Once again, I'm strictly talking about NX series, for example Dell Ultrasharp would use IPS, regardless of the size.

though I don't have any material/content or any source to show credibility of my statement, however with all due respect, may I ask if you have any source/content or material where it reads it uses 8-bit color depth?

Thanks

If you check Sony's website, the TVs with a 10 bit panel explicitly mention that its a 10 bit panel - like the X450A, Z450A, ZX450A etc. If it doesn't mention it, well its 8 bit.

Even in the NX range sony uses different panels NX700 40" uses a SHARP ASV panel .Also for eg in last year models sony had a 37" s series which they source from AUO ,since S-lcd doesn't make them.where as the 40" S550A series had a AMVA.
In 2008 sony had launched a 42" lcd tv in the USA which used a AMVA panel since S-lcd doesn't produce 42" panel.
the 40" X series and 46" series their a huge difference in overall performance since the 46" uses a BE2 pro engine with DRC MF ,local dimming RGB backlight,Motion flow 100hZ PRO(which resulted in 1080lines of motion resolution) vs 40" which used BE2,CCFL backlight,100hz motionflow (which resulted in rougly 600lines of motion resolution).

Dell ultrasharp used to use SPVA and IPS but a lottery.

these days sony in the new 550A series and 2010 model aren't mentioning the color bit, contrast, response time as they did before.Sony, sharp, hitachi used to earlier say their static contrast vs companies like samsung which was the first to post those insane dynamic contrast numbers and so called LED tv.

Thanks for directing me towards right direction Soumyajeet. I appreciate your input, having said that, NX series is highly recommended from my end. People here are either inclined towards Samsung, LG or Phillips, however, I've seen all connected to Blu-Ray player (with all brands almost), hence I've no interest in other brands due to Image quality I've noticed in Sony TVs. Rest depends on people.

I'll come back to you later adder, I've some some commitments, and I must leave for the day.

I did some research and found NX700 and beyond are using Edge LED backlight, which obviously improves the image quality. Nevertheless, to end this debate, I found NX500 to be one of the best Full HD TV, not just because I own it, but just because how well it performs. Regardless of reflective glasses on the TV. In regards to color depth, even if it is 8-bit (as I was inclined it is 8-bit but was little bit suspicious), and such great black depth, I cannot find any other TV which could even come closer to NX500. Yes you may find more features (Motion flow, Ports, panels etc.), IPS panels (usually LG seems quite frustrating;)) etc. But once again, once you calibrate it properly, specifically with a good source (Blu-Ray, player etc.), you will find it "true" colors :).

Thanks friends.

^The EX400 and the NX500 uses the same panel if you were to trust your eyes - I personally verified this after hitting the Sony Center. Expressed my concerns to buy a TV and convinced the showroom manager, did a factory reset and switched the lights of the room off. They had a Sun HD DTH reception to both the panels and both looked strikingly similar sans the NX's reflective panel. in absolute dark, the panel reflects almost nothing but that is never the case when you install it at your home. Otherwise both are excellent displays.

But does the 32incher come with MotionFlow 100Hz tech?

I've examined each and every panel, to me NX has better picture quality, I examined it with the Blu-Ray player connected to all the TVs (isolated). KLV-32NX500 does not have MotionFlow technology integrated.

EX500 has all the features of NX500 with 2 good changes... Sony added Motionflow 100Hz and removed the reflective glass in EX500. Now, with these changes, I would give a thumbsup for EX500 when compared to the NX 500.
