Hi,

I am thinking of buying a new IEM, since my current IEM, Pl-30 has gone kaput on one side.

Could you guys suggest something?
The MEElectronics M6 fitted perfected under 2k. Has anyone tried it?

^ The M6 are pretty for their price. Ive got a pair but havent tested it extensively . It will be nice if you can tell us what you like in you PL-30 and what you didn't ? What improvement and what kind of sound signature are you looking for exactly in your new IEM ??

I listen to Pop, Rock (No Heavy Metal), R&B, Instrumentals and sometimes Rap like the recent Airplanes-B.O.B.
I want good noise isolation. Good sound stage.
It is OK if it doesnt have too much bass. Moderate Bass is ok.
Sound quality should be good.

PL30 was good considering i had upgraded from Ep630.
I am looking for something different and better than PL30.
Build quality should also be good. PL30 build quality was not that great.

PL-50 also doesnt have great build quality and its bass is kind of little artificial . RE-2 sounds best for you as per your needs and description :).

Well,
I will Thank You For Posting This Faheem .BTW i Will Give My Expressions Also .Pradeep i listen to punjabi music .i have no idea of others i have the complete line of meelectronics also .Let me tell you about R6

R6 : Well first these are good iems .When meelec says these are low cost stage in ear monitors they mean it .The isolation is good .The thing is that the default eartips are long really long and they go in the ear channel like a injection with that phuk sound .listening to it can be a discomfort if that channel fitting starts irritating .I have large ears and still i have this issue .If you use other tips the isolation is gone .The Cable near the iem is with a silver wire in and this makes it hard there ,Sadly the cable is not changable like in my case my altec lansing uhp336 has .Coming to the audio part ,It Does a Good Job With Monitoring And Soundstage .It Depends what kind of IEMs are you looking at fun loving or analytical like esantosh always puts it .The RE2 does a great job @ Price for a IEM .Someone recently Commented on Te "Its The Most Underrated IEM in Its Price Tag " .Well Once you Listen To a RE2 you will Know Why He Commented On This .I am back from the village and will have a small comparison of the same soon .

RE-2 are indeed the most underrated IEMs actually .They sound brilliant for the price. Everytime I meet Viralbug , I try out his RE-2 for sometime atleast. :D

Indeed ,

I Made a lot of flacs in the village had time and now i am testing the uhp336 iems .Will pit them against them the M6 for a comparision .Guys uhp336 is actually a superfi 3 from ultimate ears ,they made the iems for altec lansing .Even i hate the fit of the same ,Also the Hard cable ,Any TF10 users out there who have any alternative suggestion for the cable ,I want a non stiff cable .

PS : UHP336 Is not available in india now .so only some last qty stocks in the usa for these good low cost monitors .I got mine here

Link - > Amazon.com: Altec Lansing UHP336 Snugfit In-ear Earphone: Electronics

Ultimate ears -> Amazon.com: Ultimate Ears Super.fi 3 Studio Earphones (White): Electronics

See UE Selling same thing at expensive rates

^^got me confused there?? Is Amarbir referring to M6 or RE2 ?? Also Faheem I thought the M6 would be superior to RE2 in sound quality (m still waiting for my M6 and haven ever tried Re 2) , so why the suggestion of going for RE2 instead of M6?? this question coz m looking for a small upgrade(more of a replacement) for my NE6.

^ The suggestion differs depending on the needs of the buyer. The OP doesnt want lot of bass which the M6 has :P Hence the suggestion for a RE-2.If the OP doesn't mind slightly heavy but tight bass ,the M6 is also very good.

+1 to M6....

suing one right now...and after a Burn in of about 20 hours...they seem to be setting in pretty awesomely!

Also the Bass settles down after a while of use.

^ now that makes me confident about my choice. I am a basshead so a little extra bass wud only enlighten my music experience.. Wrt burn in, any specific files like pink noise or something or regular music would do? I listen to lots of Trance and Rock (Alternative).

^ For electronica M6 is very good :D If you crave for even more bass and want slightly better soundstage , the NE6 from NuForce. The M6 has better clarity and mids though.

Vikid ,

What Other IEMS you hAve To Draw a Conclusion

Sorry for hijacking the thread...

Some advice needed for selecting the IEM of the same budget..
Recently I auditioned Bose Companion 5, and the lower mid frequencies and mids were crisply sounding...
i.e, the sound of knocking a wooden stick (Like),
Can any IEM deliver that kind of sound (Tuck insted of thud) (sorry weak in audiophile terms).

My budget is also 2k, & would be driven by ipod touch & nokia 5800...

Advice needed for fast decision...
