I'm revisiting my old XFi now after receiving my pair of jamo e700 bookshelves for my desktop. They are connected to to a vintage Onkyo A-8150 integrated amp that is on loan from Lord Dagon. These bookshelves are absolutely tiny... around 9 inches in height and 5.5 inches in width and are a little light on bass.
The added bass emphasis is actually nice for cheapie setups like this that lack bass and have a decently linear response. The setup sounds surprisingly clean, has decent amount of detail and lots of mid bass. Obviously there are limits to what a 4" driver can generate. XFi ain't pathetic when paired with equipment that hides its flaws .
