Hi guys I am looking for a fully automatic front loading washing machine for my mom.
I live in Paonta Sahib Himachal Pradesh.Only three specific brands are available with ASS

1. LG
2. Panasonic
3. Samsung

Budget - 35K

Now some important and basic information I would like to share -
We use bore water and a tank for storage that is located 10-12 feets above the ground level, water hardness is not much but main problem is the iron content. We always clean over head tank after 6-8 months and there is visible amount of iron that gets settled down in the tank. Our water taps and mixtures do have tap filters which hold all the dirt or iron that comes through the over head tank.
Currently we are using whirlpool semi auto matic 5.9 kg since 2000 (still running good :P) But it has become very tiring job for my mom so she needs a fully automatic ASAP.We are a family of 4 people and usually was clothes once a week or 2 times a week.I am also confused between front load or top load.
I am looking for 6.5 - 7kg,I saw 6 Kg in LG front load but the drum size was very small.

Please suggest which of the following I should go for and with which capacity?[DOUBLEPOST=1474445644][/DOUBLEPOST]blr_p If you can help me with this please...

For front load, water tank needs to be at good height. I think you need to settle for a top load.

About front load drum being small, LG Direct Drive machines have smaller drums for the same size in top load counterparts. When I bought mine a year and half back, proper front load (one which would match size of drum volume) was going above my budget.

Go through this thread once. It has a lot of info.

Thanks a lot for the reply... Now as I have read yours thread as well as some other ones I would like to stick with a front loader because of better wash quality of the clothes.I also read bpl_r somewhere shared the pressure ratings for the front loading machines in which LG machines would work even @ .3 bar, so I believe pressure wont be an issue until and unless I want to go for Seimens or Bosch... both are not available at my place.Besides the drum size I dont see any disadvantage for a front load and for that only I have stretched my budget over 30K.With diwali offers on the way I might get lucky and find a good deal! What say?

Go for the one which gives maximum years in warranty ,I have IFB front loader washing machine and its drum/ shaft broke recently and had to replace the drum. Fortunately it was in the last month of its warranty period ( 4 years ) so they replaced the drum for free . Which otherwise should have cost 4000 . I think its a common problem with new gen machines my neighbors LG"s drum broke just after the warranty period it was just two years old .

oh thats really sad man.. but i would like to know how was the machine being used by your neighbors?Any abuse ? Besides that I would like to tell you that most of the companies here available offering only 2 year complete warranty and after reading all the comments in other threads the 10 year warranty on DD motors remain a confusion for me... So please help me out with that...

While madhukannan might have been lucky, my experience with IFB has been horrible. I had an IFB washing machine with 4 years extended warranty on top of the 2 years standard warranty. That is 6 years in total. Initially there were minor problems. The model I bought was IFB digital 1st generation. The machine used to simply throw up some error code and stop. Whenever I called the technician he would replace a small white colored stone like block and say the problem is fixed. Again it would fail in a day or two sometimes weeks. I kept on calling the technicians and every time they used change the white block or something else but the problem was never solved.

Finally, I made one of the technicians to sit in front of the washing machine for 5 hours running one load after the other to prove that they are not fixing the problem. After 5 hours of torture the technician finally conceded that the problem was with the 1st generation motherboard which costed Rs. 11,000. They are not authorized to replace any part above Rs 200. Hence they were simply changing the white stone block which is one of the cheapest component. He also told me the only way to get the problem fixed was to keep a collection of the service tickets and then threaten IFB to sue them for lack of service. I had to do this to get the problem finally fixed.

After few more years towards the end of the warranty, I had a problem where my washing machine used to runaway from its place. It was held in place only because of the water inlet pipe. Every time called the technician the first thing they asked me was if it is under warranty. After seeing the warranty they simply tell me that I am using wrong combination of clothes (Jeans + handkerchief is a no no) or the wheels are not properly balanced. They even tried to sell me a stand to put the washing machine on. They never solved the problem. The next I reported the problem, they again asked for my warranty card. On noticing that the warranty had expired a month ago, I was told that the bearing is gone and that I will have to replace the bearing and also the drum because I was running the machine with a broken bearing. So I had to pay for bearing, shaft and drum.

Finally I ended up with Siemens.

Really sad to hear that bro... I myself stay away from IFB.I dont really like their products (no offence to people who own).I would mainly stick to LG Panasonic or samsung as these are the only authorised dealer out here + also mainly because of the ASS.Currently I am conidering LG but if anyone could help me out comparing LG and Panasonic (I found panasonic also good enough)[DOUBLEPOST=1474607943][/DOUBLEPOST]Looking for more reviews please help people...[DOUBLEPOST=1474608791][/DOUBLEPOST]Looking for more reviews please help people...

Hi guys can anyone tell me is there any difference between the drum size of 6.5kg lg front loading and 7.5 kg machine?Need urgent help as this will help me decide between the two...

yes I know that but need to know the drum size above 6 kg i have seen 6 and 7.5 size difference is good enough need to know about 6.5 and 7 too

Sorry to bump an old thread but my LG top loading washing machine has finally given up the ghost after nearly 10+ years so I have no choice but to go for a new one. Can anyone share their experiences or choices for a new one now?

I am very happy with Siemens. It is a tad costly compared to LG and Samsung but then I would pay a little more for a German engineered product.
