Hey guys

I will be getting my new LED soon and my current LCD will shift to my brother's room.

No he is pissed and wants the DLNA features.

So to get that I need a HD player.

It needs to have an Ethernet port to the least and if possible then wifi(n) also. And obviously should be able to stream HD files without stuttering, especially if being streamed over wifi.

It is not important that it have internal storage as everything will be streamed but it must be able to handle any format I throw at it and should be a reputed brand like asus, playon, etc.

Budget is as low as possible to get these features.

Any idea what I should get???

TIA

you can look for asus O!Play Air or the hd2 version which i guess is without wifi (not sure though)

also there's one model called as mini plus, hdp, mini (except the mini one all have a ethernet port).

it should meet your requirement. though don't know about the prices.

Bought a WD Live (the new model) 2 weeks back. It has an ethernet port and built in wifi. It is DLNA certified.

The only problem I have faced so far are with videos which have 5.1 AAC. I have to remux them after converting audio to AC3. I found out later that it has plagued the WD media players for a long time.

Which is why I can't directly recommend it to you. Otherwise it is a good player considering it is sells at the same price as the older model.

I got it for 7k from Cromas Malad. Got a free HDMI cable with it.

Though there was a confusion if the cable was free or not between some of the staff members out there. They said that it was a new year offer or something and I had to collect the cable from WD service centre. So I picked up a HDMI cable and an optical cable but the fellow who told me that it was an ongoing offer earlier saw me at the counter and told me that I had forgotten to take the free Belkin HDMI cable. He asked me to wait and brought a Dick Smith HDMI cable as they didn't have a Belkin HDMI cable. I took it no questions asked. Paid for the player and optical cable and fled the scene

7k is a bit expensive me thinks.

Asus O!Play HDP-R1 is available for around 5k. No WiFi though, only Ethernet.
