On ebay sellers are selling old lappies for like ~ 13k with warranty. Is there a way to buy directly from any company?

Laptops are only required for email and wordprocessing tasks.

Even I need to buy a cheap laptop. I was hoping to get an old IBM T42 or something. But I find most units that are up for sale rather expensive. Craigslist etc. have them listed for 12-13k. You can get a brand new netbook for a little more than that. :S
