"Do you have XYZ Credit Card?" Thread

All members who try to help each other with ordering with their cards.

I genuinely advised not to share cards details. Some members maybe absolutely trust worthy and no disrespect to anyone but it may even lead to misunderstanding in case something goes wrong and decent friendship could leave a bad taste when that happens.

Just my 2 cent.

SBI card here
(Limit 21k)
I guess you didn't know about the (in)famous era of 15k limit axis flipkart cards.

SBI gave me a 15K limit a few years ago, and I go through it twice a month (use, pay, use, pay), but they never increased the limit, and then they blocked the card a couple of months ago (story somewhere here).

Some members

Or their devices/accounts may become compromised/lost/stolen.
All cards work internationally without OTP if tokenized or "card added"

I was talking about websites that don't do that — my SBI card worked everywhere online. Guest checkout without OTP, just a confirmation SMS after the fact. Same with ICICI.

That's why I don't save my payment information anywhere online outside of India. Some (international) services play nice and require an OTP for subscriptions, but many don't.

There are too many avenues for your information to get leaked on the internet. One shouldn't be so lax with credit card info. What happens when you share your credit card with three friends, all of them are trustworthy, none of them misuse it, but out of those three friends and yourself, someone ends up a target of malware or something on an infected device and that info is leaked, even when no one made a mistake knowingly or misused it, this will create chaos and everyone will suspect others of abuse/scam. This is an avoidable situation.

It is just common sense not to share it over the internet in plain text and only enter it on trusted websites at the check-out page. FYI, there are tools/malwares which scan your plain text data (such as messages and clipboards and notes) for patterns that match credit card numbers or crypto wallets and such. Be more careful, people.

It's not that complicated anymore u always need otp, you can keep credit cards limit to ur likings decrease limits temporarily lock cards and also most companies / banks now have zero loss liability in case you report immediately or within certain time frame... It's not point scaring people ..

If anything it's easier for corrupt bank officials and Fintech companies sharing ur data to others than anyone else, ur all data is ubiquitous when u enter details once google asks u to save it they track evrything , so do most browsers ur emails ur passwords , biggest way to make money in modern times is selling data..

It's cool to see such a trusting community helping each other here tbh.

Also it takes seconds to block card and issue new one with new number even , i lost my wallet last week got cards back in 4 - 5 days, also all these platforms have ur cards too when they save info anyway , and all these apps you have given permissions too read ur otps as well..

if you think like this there's no end to such line of thinking..
