Storage Solutions Need to Buy WD Caviar Green 1 TB 'Online'

Hi,

Not experienced in terms of buying stuff online. Never bought anything with the help of Paypal , Credit Card or even through Ebay, etc.

I have balance of some $95 in my Paypal, which i am planning to use for buying this HDD. I might be short by some $10 but i have my Paypal linked to a CC so I think it won't be a problem.

Anyways so how do i go about it.

As in

1) Where should i buy it from ? - Ebay , Newegg ?
2) Do i need to register of some sorts ?
3) Where can i get the best offer in terms of Pricing, Delivery and other factors?
4) Also in Hot Deals sections, some sort of discount coupon thing is going on, Can i avail some sort of benefit from that?
5) Anything else that I should keep in mind ?

I was planning to post this in Market section, But planning to buy 'WD Caviar Green 1 TB' so thought its appropriate here.

Buy one locally and sell the 95 bucks for equivalent rupees. If you're adamant on buying an HDD online, your best bet would be eBay.

I am inclined towards Online due to coupons and all.. Discount can be upto 1000/- so it should be better, shouldn't it ?
 
Those coupons are valid on ebay.in. The thing is, most Indian ebayers don't accept paypal as a valid form of payment. If you were to buy from the global ebay web site, you'd be slapped with 20-30 dollars in shipping fees. I think the cheapest WD 1TB on eBay is about $130 shipped to India, which is certainly a lot more than what it costs out here (I think).

P.S.: If you are still going ahead with eBay, be sure to get your paypal address verified. I have had ebay resellers canceling my transaction (or worse still, sending to my verified address!) because some of my current/temporary addresses on eBay were unconfirmed.
 
You can withdraw the 90$ you have in paypal to your bank account then purchase it from ebay.in with your CC using the coupons.
 
Yeah, thats seems like a viable option, although hectic. As I will have to withdraw fund from Paypal to Savings A/c and then transfer it to Ewallet (CC).

Any other suggestions ?

Also how do i go about getting the coupons, Also are the product specific or i can use any coupon for any item ?

Actually its the Virtual Credit Card from ICICI i.e Ewallet :bleh:, Hence the hassle :|

Also can anyone please give the latest Pricing of this HDD in Pune/Mumbai ?

Edit 2: There are a few ebay.in sellers who accept paypal.. I just now browsed through the site and found a one powerseller by name navkar_collection who accepts paypal..

I have had shocks of seagate with my 7200.11 failing one fine day without any warning and unfortunately for me, it was my Backup Drive and Jampacked upto its last MB..

So Seagate is huge no no even if it costs half the price of WD or for that matter any other..
